TephraMOD V6 - testing!
I grabbed the V7T5 96530706 to use on my 96530006 and I am in the process copying the data over into the tables.
A couple of questions....
1.) For the Base Wastegate Duty table...
Since my Evo8 only has 5 gears, I assume the 6th column would be ignored?
2.) And that Gear 0 is reverse?
For the "Drop Boost on high Knock"
3.) I assume on high knock, the boost gets dropped to whatever values are in the "Alternate Base Wastegate Duty" ?
4.) For the time/period that the boost gets dropped for high knock, is that specified in the "High Knock Boost Drop and Knock CEL Flash Time"?
Thx

gear 0 is neutral.
just changed gear 6 to like 1 (in the rpm/speed gear table) - that way it will never register.
boost drop = 0% WGDC not altmap
boost drop time is what u said

There is a whole lot of stuff that is going to take some time getting used to but all the options are great plus cleaning it up the rom is nice too.
Hopefully all goes well. Ill be flashing and logging when I leave for work.

Ask, and ye shall receive!
Basic first impressions: per-gear boost control seems to behave properly, NLTS is working, and things in general seem to be behaving properly. But obviously, I haven't given it an in-depth workout yet; there's a lot of stuff to test these days.
Quick question about the launch maps: do they apply for NLTS use as well? (I assume no, but it's worth asking.) I'm actually surprised you implemented full-size maps for both timing and fuel for launch, given how much space it eats up.
I expected either a single value for each, or RPM-based 2D maps instead.

cool
launch maps not for NLTS
um they are just copies/replacements of the normal fuel+timing, so you get the same resolution... space is ok
test out the altmaps enable/disable by as many methods as you can
(obviously you will need to flash to update the chosen method)

I will start testing V7 after this weekend. I am going to the Winged Warrior event and will be running 5.10.
Looking forward to the alt map switch with the pedal, launch maps and gear based boost. If I can get my tuning finalized I may switch early, but I am not very close right now.

Let me give a little background first. 96 Galant running an evo 8 ecu. 9927 rom runs my car just fine. I tried 9653 v7 today, and my car will not start. I have the immobilizer code set to ffff (same as my 9927 code) with no luck. The only thing i can see that is different is the maf scaling values. The 9927 starts at 192 where as the 9653 starts at 19. Any suggestions?
Try disabling the immobilzer first, if the car starts then you have to move the Immobizer hex code over from your old ROM to the new one. Then move the immobilizer over.
Review the 96530006 portion of the ECU WIKI, sorry do not have the website with me.

Another question please...
With the new per gear WGDC and BDEL tables in the TephraMod section, what happens to the the WGDC and BDEL tables in the "Turbo Boost Single Solenoid" section?
Are they simply ignored?

And if so, which others fall away?
I would imagine that these two below may effect the "WGDC=100% under this load" in the Tephra Mod section.
"MinLoad for Boost Control"
"BCS Re/De-Activation RPM"

"MinLoad for Boost Control"
"BCS Re/De-Activation RPM"
Min Load for boost control is still used
Activation RPM should still be used, but I'm not sure anyone has tested it. Worst case it is not re-used and no worries, best case just modify it as normal and nothing should go wrong unless they are improperly set in the first place
