how to run a ics button on a 05

ok i have/had (it was totaled)a 03 running e85 with the ics button as the switch from pump to e85.
i'm going to pick up a 05 on Saturday and i want to take my 03 center console and use it in the 05 so i do not have to run a toggle switch. My question is has any body done this? If where do i run the pins in to the 05 ecu?

I've never seen the 03/ICS switch wiring, but for the 05 ECU, all you need to do is send a 5V source to pin 42. All I did was use a simple push button switch...one end hooked to 5V source, the other end hooked to pin 42.

or you can order the harness with switch, wires, and LED from Jamie.

As posted just run the jackofrades switch - much easier and you can mount it in your glove box out of site.

I have a device from Innovate called and SSi4 that I used that has a 5V out. But, the ECU has a 5V output as well on pin 81. I think someone else used this for his 5V source. I forgot his name, but you may be able to find it via a search. I can't comment on that method, since I didn't use it.

If you look at the wiring diagrahm on the link above, it shows where to get the 5V source from.

Where it says 12v ignition?

You want a 12v ignition source if possible so you don't lose alt maps while cranking - e85 requires the use of alt ipw start-up table for best back and forth map switching. If you don't get a good 12v ignition source under cranking you will lose the alt. maps and divert to the main maps for the # of seconds it takes to go back to the alt. maps after the car fires.

I got a turbo timer harness and just took the 12v source from it so I dont lose the map switch under cranking - works great.

42 is the pin that once it sees power, activates the switch over to the alternate map. There is no pin in the harness, but there is one in the ECU.

You add a pin connector to pin 42 on the ECU plug. Pin 42 is the one used for manual map switching.

Of course, depending on what ROM you use for your 05, you can simply use tephra's latest 96530006 with the tps switching and not have to worry about wiring in a switch.

Why would i do tps switching when I'm running either e85 OR 93 i need two different maps depending on what I'm running. They both have different injector scaling.

The TPS is used for the map switching. I think you are misunderstanding things. You can either do a manual switch, or tephra now has where you can switch maps by utilizing the TPS in a certain way.

V7 is *almost* out, includes TPS map switching.

If you feel like READING a LOT :P look at the V6 testing thread
