Virtual Dyno Room-Dyno Simulator
thanks i like it a lot... looks lot better than mrfreds.... can i ask if increasing the smoothing increases the number of items averaged?
also i got a similar problem. one of my logs (via evoscan and hence smaller samples) does not like being put in the base, but sits in the comparative pull and displays fine.

So......a member on here (bbarnhill) is cool enough to take my VDR application and is creating a C# application so no one needs to use Excel OR OpenOffice to run the simulator, its a full stand-alone! Not only that, but he also found an excel error that I never caught which make the calculations a little screwy. It never really went noticed since I created the dyno correction adjustment which basically smoothed out the error unknowingly. It also can look inside a datalog file without any copy/paste stuff too which is awesome. You just choose the file and it'll graph it.
We both agree that this should be a freeware application for the community and he is hoping to offer it to Hamish at Evoscan to possibly add-on to his program so Evoscan ACTUALLY have a useful simulator for once lol.

soon! heading to the midwest evos event this weekend, might put it on the dyno for shiz n giggles. I couldn't get it together in time for the buschur shootout, missed it by a few days. Hope to hit the track soon but it's not making the power it was in the winter that's for sure.

As long as you bring you laptop and have it logging while they do a pull (everyone does that for us) and ask them for both corrected and uncorrected #'s, you'll be good. Their software gives them both, some dont even have the CORRECTED #'s anyhow.

If its an error in my original calculations, drop me a PM to show me.

Doesn't seem to be according to Brad, its just an Excel calculation error on it's part. I didn't get into detail with him about it but I'm sure he can PM you with details if you wish. Just like you, I got SWAMPED with stuff that took priority so the torch has been passed once again. I definitely want people to give props to you for starting this whole thing. Hopefully Brad can finish what we both started, the community needs something awesome like this.
I use it religiously when tuning. It really lets me see when I need to push my tune harder or less in certsin areas for a nice, smooth powerband. You can REALLY see how much the stock turbo poops out at high HP levels after 6.5k RPM! I've noticed that the efficiency of this engine is DEFINITELY in the 5.5-6.5K rpm area. It can be so touchy with timing there too.

I downloaded and used this last week but forgot to post my graphs. I had this problem with getting huge spikes or dips in the middle of the run, I think those must be to steering input but its crazy that it would affect the numbers so much!

I have the data logs from the actual dyno runs (dyno dynamics) if they are helpful.

Slight terrain changes can effect data a bit, that...combined with datalogging anomolies. Thats why the smoothing is VERY helpful with the street simulator, more than a real dyno would need. I must say, the simulator mimics the dynos power curve rather well IMO!

hmm I was going to run one of my logs through but it comes up blank in the base pull, I can copy the same data into the comparison columns and it plots that. I downloaded v5.6 again and still no luck, what am I doing wrong?
