What vehicle weight, driver weight are you using? If you're car is lighter than you think it may be, it'll make your HP #'s higher than reality....hence a need to lower the Dyno Correction Ratio. You're roughly 10% off from the others, only reason I ask.

The 'average' Evo IX weight with no passengers is around 3260lbs I believe. Someone with a fairly stock weight Evo IX who has weight it at the track might need to chime in here for me. So add that in the VEHICLE WEIGHT box. Add the TOTAL passengers weight (including driver) in the OCCUPANTS WEIGHT box.

My MR comes in about 3320 with half a tank of gas.

By itself or with you inside it? If so, what is your weight?

I will create a VEHICLE LIST page that will hold the following columns of data for each vehicle.
  • Vehicle/Transmission Type
  • 3rd Gear Ratio
  • 4th Gear Ratio
  • Final Drive Ratio
  • Frontal Area
  • Drag CoEfficient

There will be roughly 10 blank spaces where users can add their own vehicle info (and save it) to the list so ANY vehicle type can make use of this program. The items added to this list will appear in the 'Transmission Type' drop-down list on the Dyno Graph.(which I will be renaming 'VEHICLE TYPE') Below is just a rough example:

This will also eliminate the need for the USER OPTION for different gear ratios on the USER SETTINGS page.
Nice additional feature!

So thats about 3247lbs for your vehicle itself. Weight is a hard thing to estimate considering IC piping,TBE,smaller battery,etc... all saves weight, then some people add car audio gear which adds weight back. If you want to get the closest simulation #'s to a real dyno, I suggest weighing your car somewhere.

Most Truck Stops have drive-up vehicle scales and cost less than $10 to get weighed. Keep in mind that these scales are usually only accurate to within 15lbs. which is close enough IMO.

Some town landfills now weigh the vehicle BEFORE you empty your trash bags from it, then weigh it again to see how much weight you dumped. They can tell you your vehicle weight for you.

Race Tracks. Almost every race track will have a scale, though they aren't always available.

Without me in it. I looked again at my notes, and its 3300 lbs with a half tank of gas. I get my measurement at the local landfill. They claim the scale is accurate to within 10 lbs. The MR is supposed to be a few pounds heavier than the GSR, but the ETS intercooler I'm running weighs 20 lbs more than stock. The exhaust is not much lighter than stock, so I'd say a stock MR with half a tank of gas should come in at about 3280 lbs.

BTW, the amount of fuel in the gas tank can make a difference in the measured HP/TQ. 8 gallons of gas (usually how much it takes to go from half to full on my car) weighs about 50 lbs.

Very true. A gallon of gas is roughly 6lbs. so it adds up fast. Hence the smart planning to have only a few gallons in the tank when you hit up the 1/4 mile race track I know I personally account for it when I tune but I doubt most people do.

If you entered the vehicle weight of a stock weight Evo with a full tank into the simulator, then did a run with an empty tank of gas, that could make it appear that your car gained nearly 5-8whp more, even though it didn't.

Ok guys, I'm pulling my resources here....

I need to find the FRONTAL AREA and DRAG COEEFICIENT for the Evo 7's and the Evo 10's. If anyone finds this info, please post it up, as well as a link to your source if you wouldn't mind.

Thanks guys!
