I just went to look at PCMscan and it looks like they don't support the tactrix cable.

I too can't get scan tech to work with my IX using a tactrix.

Can I just use hyperterm and type in some codes to get the readiness information for emissions testing?
If so does anyone know what strings to send down the cable.

Also for those that have gotten scan tech to work do you have to mess with the baud rates or somthing?

When I tried scan tech I checked my com port and used jeff's protocol and it just wont connect.

I need to get this car through inspection but I'd like to know if it is ready before sacrificing my lunch break to go do it.

 

i just opened scantech and it worked fine with my tactrix first try...didnt change any settings or anything.

 

Interesting. EcuFlash and evoScan work fine. Just can't connect with Scan Tech. I would love to just use hyperterm and may try that tonite.

When you set a "NOT SUPPORTED" test to "NOT AVAILABLE" what should the "PASS FAIL" table show for that test.

1 or 0?

 

I'm not sure you want to do that - the inspection place may have a database that shows what tests should be available for your vehicle.

Im a super noob and I have been trying to figure this out but the video doesnt work and I understand EcuFlash and EvoScan but still lost on this and searched but dont find much. Can anyone help me out?

 

Not sure if I can help you, but I will try. Just where is it failing for you?

I know that is some cases it is that other applications actually conflict with EvoScan and ECUFlash. I had to clean my laptop before it would work for me.
