Can you post a log of RPM_SPEED_RATIO_AVERAGE + Gear

Just do a slow 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 5

that way we can see what its doing.

First, thanks for your help Tephra

You'll find attached the log you request.

I'll try to give you all the inputs

Settings in Evoscan:
<DataListItem DataLog="Y" Color="" Display="RPM_SPEED_RATIO_AVERAGE" LogReference="RPM_SPEED_RATIO_AVERAGE" RequestID="42" RequestID2="43" Eval="x/22.6" Unit="RPM/MPH" MetricEval="" MetricUnit="" ResponseBytes="1" GaugeMin="0" GaugeMax="300" ChartMin="0" ChartMax="300" ScalingFactor="1" Notes="" Priority="1" Visible="False" />

<DataListItem DataLog="N" Color="" Display="Gear" LogReference="Gear" RequestID="40" Eval="x" Unit="units" MetricEval="" MetricUnit="" ResponseBytes="1" GaugeMin="0" GaugeMax="300" ChartMin="0" ChartMax="300" ScalingFactor="1" Notes="
" Priority="1" Visible="False" />

RPM/SPEED to GEAR table (RPM/MPH for the ratio scaling) :
0 6
43.0088 5
61.9912 4
85 3
116.991 2
173.009 1
2899.78 0

I didn't catch exactly how does this work about the relation between gears and the ratio. Do you need an accurate value or these numbers are to be considered as defining a range between different gears ?

You'll find my current ROM here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3NYSRCTD

Again, many thanks

ok so your log is pretty good.

the values are slightly off.

I would use:
1st: 175
2nd: 120
3rd: 88
4th: 65
5th: 46

they shouldn't need to be super close, so im suprised its not cutting over properly...

Thx, I'll try these values tomorrow

EDIT problem solved with the values provided above.

Thanks a lot Tephra

I'm also quite surprised, in fact at the beginning I was considering these values as defining a range.
Def, I should be quite close !

bringin it back to life...

Have a buddy w/ an 03 VIII rom 94170008, his car is having some work done, and wants me to tune it when finished. Last night I loaded up the v7 rom on the car, I was gonna tune w/... (94170715 rom) just to see if it would take the new rom, and it was hunting for idle up and down... Being as tho, I was just testing to see if it would take, I just flashed back to the 08 rom... I would like to hook him up w/ all the goodies, so am looking for a lil insight...

My question is this, does the BISS need to be adjust when swapping from the 08 rom? I was under the impression, this was only necessary when swapping between USDM and EDM roms...

car has old s1 cams 1000cc inj. and full bolt ons.
Idle is @ 1k in all maps w/ the exception of the AC map which is @ 1200.
Disabled the warm up ignition maps.
rear 02 is disabled, altho Im gonna re-enable this and use tephras rear 02 sim.

Im willing to provide maps roms whatever...

Thanks

And Dave, your way OVER due for a donation from me, sir! But will be coming your way shortly...

Phil

Fuel cut / rev hang mystery

Can't get 94170715 to work. Above 5000 RPM's I seem to be hitting a fuel cut. I'm using PSI-based boost and I am nowhere reaching my PSI-targets before the supposed fuel cut is being implimented. Anyone willing to help, I am attaching my ROM and log of the behaior. Another thing to note is that my log of which gear I am in are completely off---not sure if that helps (all load or boost tables for each gear have some sort of target in it).

All tables switched over are from a perfectly working v5 ROM. I copied over MAF / ignition / fuel / boost / immobilizer etc. / periphery bits / the whole works. I have meticulously looked over every single setting in this ROM and cannot find any issues what-so-ever.

The issue is present whether I am PSI-based or Load-based.

I have attached a log of my v7 run that shows fuel cut at high RPM, a log of the working v5 ROM moving through gears 1-2, and my v7 ROM and .XML definition for review.

In summary:
-supposed fuel cut above 5000 RPM's
-gears logging wrong in EVOSCAN

Thanks to anybody that may be of help! I have been working to get things in order for over a month now.

You will notice my Boost Limit is set to low values, I had been messing around to see if that table changed the behavior if I set them high or low and I found no effect (except for getting boost cut, which is a totally different phenomenon from what I am experiencing).

Cheers,

-Shane

Did you ever get this figured out?

Not Really, just fitted Skunk 2 pro intake mani with a stock T.B .

Installed a TIAL Q bov with 10 Psi spring.

As soon as switched back to stock rom the P0121 and 122 are gone.

Checked for loose wires - Closed tp % 13.7 - fully opened 100%

Any suggestions please ?

The stock settings are 13.7% anything lower than this , car's idle starts to drop.

Stock settings is like 11.5 to 12.5 depending on TPS sensor.

Mine is at 10.5 and fully opens to 100%. Does require a little Idle Set Screw adjust, but you should be adjusting it anyway to read 15 steps on the IAC.

Oh, and this is with Kelford 272 Cams, which is even harder.

But with stock cams, should not be that hard to set and get those Idle steps.
