you will probably have to run idle in openloop and run it at 13:1 AFR...

lowered my fuel pressure, really no change in performance.

If i lower the minipw too low the idle is unstable like you said. not necessarily rich or lean, just unstable with respect to rpm.

If i raise it one increment up it idles steady at 1000rpm but its at ~12:1 AFR...
tried raising it to ~1150rpm. no benefit.

I'm considering the open loop option at this point.

All the info in this thread is very useful. Thank you for contributing to this to the community. I'm still just having trouble utilizing it.

we ran ID2000's down to 1.120ms, with a fuel pressure of 43.5psi...

Any patches for the 96940011

I just installed my FIC 2150cc injectors on my Evo. I had them from my E85 galant. So right away with the injector scaling at 1624 STFT was at 0 and pulling and adding, but it seemed pretty good.

Outside of that the AFR's are anywhere from 13.5-17.0 at idle. The car just jumps back and fourth between the AFR's.

Injector Pulse is 1.024ms

Also please forgive the Noob, I was on an AEM EMS before on the galant and I just picked up the evo about 3 weeks ago. I have been reading until my eyes bleed.

Also for me, the idle is very ruff. It is almost like I am running a 280 cam in the car.

ALso specs for my car are pretty much bone stock. TBE, and HKS Filter.

I will get a log tonight and include my map.

Also I have attempted to switch to a stock 96530006 map, the car did the same thing, even as I adjusted the MIPW. I might switch to V7 on SD over the weekend and see if I can get things dialed in better on that, and in the next few weeks E85, and I would assume that it will run much better on the e because the duty cycle should be much higher at idle.

if your logged IPW is 1.024 and the AFR is swinging wildly then you are probably operating just under the IPW that is ok for that injector.

try bumping it up to 1.1ms

So I figured a pic is worth a thousand words.

When I was logging the only value that would ever show up for the IPW was 1.024. Even after changing and flashing the map. Now I wend all the way down to ~.9 and that just made the car super crazy. When running 1.128 it seemed that the car was pretty stable, very rich 12-13's but pretty stable. If I bumped it back down to 1.024 it would be in the 13-17's range, but it would see a lot of 14-15's in there.

When you would tap on the throttle from a stop it would have a lot of hesitation. Now I am currently on 91oct here in cali.

right so
@ 1.024 you get wild swings
@ 1.128 you get good idle, but too rich

try 1.076

So the best I have been able to get the car to idle at is about 11.0-12.5. So with the AC on I will get stalls every once and a while. Also when it is cold out the car does idle much richer. It really likes the heat. Not sure why.

I am going to bump my idle to 1000rpm and see if that will clean up some of the issues also.

Current MIPW = 1.040

I have been playing with the values up and down and it seems that I will have to deal with a Rich Idle AFR, which is not a super bad thing. The cruise AFR is about 14.5-15.5 it swings a little during that.

Thanks for all the help, and if I get everything super dialed in I will post up a map so that everyone can have a look.

E85 here I come, that will solve my low IPW issues .

you should get a stable AFR for idle.. if its not stable (and your running in OpenLoop) then you need to bump up the minIPW one more step...

richer is better than unstable AFR...

I just found this thread thanks to FastFreddie,

I have a very similar issue. 8895 Tephrav7 SD ROM with FIC 1680's OEM FPR and base FP. Fuel: E85

When my car is idling it makes WILD swings in AFR from 13:1 to 18:1. I've noticed when the ambient temps are colder its worse (swings further lean) What this does is kill the car after you start it. It starts, idles, starts swinging, swings lean...stumbles...dies.

Today it was below freezing and I had to restart the car 4 times during warm up. When the idle DOES stabilize...it stabilizes at 12.8:1AFR and that's when its warmed up.

I've read what you've suggested and the patch information for my rom is listed. I'll give it a shot and see what I can come up with.

thank you for the effort and help!

Evo IXs have a minimum IPW of 1.04ms, the 1680s shouldnt be maxing that out. I am pretty sure I have your car set to idle in open loop might want to check that.
