Getting extremely frustrated!!!
Ok so I was able to pull the rom after charging my battery. I'm still not able to use ecuflash 1.42 though. The cable will work with 1.29, 1.30, 1.34. So does anybody have any ideas what I need to do to get 1.42 to work? Can I flash a V7 rom with the older versions? I've read that some people have been doing this, but when I looked at the injector scaling in 1.29 it was completely different from the scaling that was setup in v1.42. The scaling is correct with v1.34. Any ideas?
You might try SilverEvo's Secret ECU Hack. Basically it tricks the later versions of EcuFlash into ignoring the cable ID. That way you can use your old 1.3U cable with the later versions.
Ecuflash on the newer versions prefer the new 2.0 cable ( which they want you to buy ) , and read the cable id, if it doesnt match up then no workee. There was a fix wheer you could send in the older cables to Tactrix and they would fix the cable ID to work with the newer versions but IIRC they stopped doing that.
So If i was you I'd search for the SilverEvo Secret ECu Hack and download the file. Install it and test to see if you can use 1.42.
I am still using 1.38 with the cable hack and dont find much need to upgrade to either the 2.0 cable or 1.42EcuFlash.
Also be aware that the file format for the older versions of ECuFlash required little endian format for data and the newer versions are all big endian format ( 1.34 and up IIRC. If the table data doesnt show up in properly defined tables, that may be the case . You can open the evo7base or evo9base or evo10base xml and check. Do a search and replace for "little" endian with "big" endian.
Hope this helps

I have a newer cable. I have tried just about everything I can think of. Un-intall, re-install, re-install without ecuflash drivers, etc... Any other ideas?
Are any of you guys changing the baud rate when using 1.42 in order to get it to work? If so what are you setting it at and how do you change it in ecuflash?
