well I've been doing some logging with the livemap to see if I can isolate the "cough" that we're seeing, I've attached a log that shows it quite well, you can see from the load the it suddenly jumps from 100 -> 235 lines 620 and 7206 this then reduces the timing and causes the cough, not sure how this large change in load is calculated as its straight and level driving

if i leave the KPA side of the KPA>load table alone, and only adjust the last value on the load side, is that a good method to dial in this table? I havent really seen much explanation on how you guys are lining that table up.

Has anyone tuned timing from scratch by setting 1;1 kpa load?

I did, but I hated it and it didn't work well. The map ended up really ugly, specifically the VE map....better to set kpa2load, then make it fit your fuel map/timing map you want (like if it is at 16 AFR at 30 load, increase kpa2load on the right side at 30kpa or whatever it is at, until AFR is right, then set VE to fine tune per RPM and load, and then fit timing into that...)

I don't see how that works when you don't know what ve the idle is at. I left the kpa load table as roadspike had it made my desired afr map and tuned ve .. is that complete *** backwards?

This is working great for me. I left kpa load as roadspike left it, which was about 20ish load higher. Just gave me an opportunity to start at lower timing and work my way up ..~23psi 400 on dj/ vd hta 71 @ 11*

I left it how it came fresh, KPA-load, sub 100 kpa = sub 100 load. Then a slight increase of load to kpa . Im within 20 load of where I was. I was pushed a little farther to the right in my tephra maps, but I just kept it and went with it! Im not sure how finicky I am supposed to be with ve smoothing, but I set my fuel maps to the exact value I wanted and just tweaked VE to match. AFR to actual.

I have a lean tip in issue, what next?

i have adjsuted RPM and TPS ipw adders via ecu flash. I have added a ton of value for each, and it still stays lean on tip in.. usually stays right around 12.1-12.3 afr till about 20 psi, i think this is the KPA to load tweak I am seeking, but I do not understand why that would make it richer I suppose?

You can try messing with the maf compensation table if what you're seeing seems to be airflow dependent. Log Hz. It still works with SD, Hz is just calculated now.

The TPS accel whatever it is isn't what you want, that's got a load or TPS limit on it, and it's much less than when boost starts to set in. I think your KPA to load VE is what you want to adjust. Find the KPA (make sure it's not load, but kpa) spot where it's lean or rich, and increase that value as necessary.

Increase the kpa or load value at that spot ? 3dsd has kpa -load 2d

All things being equal, a higher load per kpa means more fuel, so increase the gap between the 2 where you go lean....I change the right side of the table, but I also have previously changed the left side so that I have good ranges to work with. For example around 30-40-50-60, I see a lot of variation in VE necessary, so I have more resolution there.

Right on, Ive been tinkering away. I bumped my 100kpa value of load to 105. I dont know if that is enough, to solve my issue, but it certainly did make it rich were it was previously rich before: I still seem to have this issue of getting lean on tip in though. I can tune the VE so that constant throttle at one cell is right on, now let off the throttle and step on it so it passes that cell, and its not any where near spec. I still have to redo the upper RPM ranges of the VE map 3500 +, so Ill know if it made any changes.

its frustrating, but i have to understand this!

Here's a question for comments.

1: do you leave the kpa volts table at 1 :1 even though u might have a different map sensor... ?
you see i think i edited that map and changed the setting to match my map sensor and it changed the figure in the kpa volts side? would that be right and should i just change it back?? to 1:1 scaling ? not edit my rom to match my sensor? as with my orginal sd rom i had to go though and edit boost maps etc to match my omni sensor.

2: only tune the map to load..? i know how that works as i had already had the first 2d sd.
and yeah ve for fine tuning>
