2.3ltr Timing Maps

Hey Guys,

Im just about to finish building my 2.3ltr stroker and will be running it in

I have a very conservative 2.0ltr timing map on the car right now, just want any pointers for going 2.3ltr

Also has anyone ran into Knock Sensor dramas with a built motor?

Cheers

yes you may have to tweak your knock sensor settings. really depends on the specific build tho. strokers are great fun.. enjoy it.

I'm new to this but would this map be a good start for a 2.3L and IX turbo?

no dont use that map for a base map.. just look at 0 to 100 load for reference.

also.. that map is a bit conservative in the cruise area also.. the car will run 38-40* no problem in the cruise area

i will edit that pic so people dont try to copy it.. on the WOT side lol.

Ok, I'm mainly looking for a good starting point for idle and low rpm driving to get some logs for a remote tune.

a remote tune should include the base map. you shouldnt have to do any tuning on your own.. that defeats the whole purpose of a remote tune

This is a car that will be started for the 1st time in 3 years with lot of new mods so I will not be doing any "tuning" myself, just making sure everything is in the right ballpark when I 1st start/drive it.

Im going to use some Detcans when this gets tuned.

I have done some reading that a 2.3ltr wont need as much timing (wont take as much) as a 2ltr.

So my run-in tune has cruise around 35-38, and timing ramping down to 4degrees at peak boost ramping to 8 up top, although i wont be hitting full boost until the motor has ran in and its on the dyno,

Full boost being 280load @5000rpm on pump i plan on running some more boost with this new build also, thats just the info from when my 2ltr was running
