Tactrix 2.0 help
Tactrix 2.0 help
i tried to delete the immobilizer and that worked but then i tried to write the rom back on and it kept on failing now my car wont start.
i tried flashing back the stock image and it wont work and kept giving me errors, i tried 3 different versions of ecuflash on 2 different laptops and no luck
here are the screen shots
pulled the rom on the ecu and compared it to ecu and this is what i get

tried writing a rom and this is what i get

either the cable isnt reading and writing properly or my ecu is bad..
thoughts ??

I would start with making sure the ROM definitions are correct in Ecuflash, next did you input your unique imobilizer code into the first Rom you flashed to your car? Next were you flashing the same ROM ID to the vehicle? Meaning Ex. 94170015, and flashed 94170015, or did you flash a completely different ROM? We need more info to answer you questions, however if it pulled the ROM image it is not your cable. Now it could be your ROM if it has been tuned before and the tuner locked the image (possiblity), could also be a laptop issue with the operating system.
Try to read the rom again, this will confirm if the cable/laptop/ecu are all still working properly.
If all you did was read, then try to write and fail....the ecu might be locked up, the first time you tried to write did it make it farther into the process than in the screenshots you provided? or did it do just the same thing. Because from the screenshots ,....it didn't get to the point where it writes anything so the car should still start.
if it was my car I would start from step 1.

Ok ill try to answer as much as I can considering I'm a noob when it comes to this and I'm still learning.
A friend helped me fix this through teamviewer. The problem was that since this is an ecu on a 2000 galant which has the h8 processor which is to my understanding is locked then tactrix 2.0 can read it and flash it. The problem from what I understood is that we were choosing the wrong option when we read the rom which made it impossible to write back. I needed to do the 99-01 evo 6.5 option rather than evo 5/6
Yes I was flashing the same rom id and it wouldn't let me and never went past those screen shots so what went wrong I have no clue. I got a spare ecu that I pulled the rom from and flashed that with my Immobilizer code and now the car runs but couldn't disable the Immobilizer yet which we r working on that now
I hope I answered all the questions and if u have any more don't hesitate to ask
long shot but did you look in case it has an external immobiliser unit some 98/99 CJ1A colt had them bolted to panel just above the obd socket its wired from obd socket to immo then to ecu
