New EVODROID7 EvoScan Android GPS/Logger/Reflashing CarPC Touchscreen Review
A few people have asked this week about the same system but an indash system, yes that is the next stage after Evodroid7... a special Evo7/8/9 indash double din Android stereo/datalogger. I will start a new thread for that once the first two batches of EvoDroid7 are out.
Any chance I can change my order for the indash version isntead ?

So, sat nav, evoscan, mp3 player from SD card, bluetooth phone integration, mp4 video player etc. all working with the 1.3da cable?
It would need to be stylish though to make me give up the double din Alpine head unit...

I paid in December of last year. The first batch hasn't even been sent. I guess you'll have to wait your turn because there are others who paid earlier than me.
IMO, it's worth the wait.
Any update Hamish? Hope your newborn and the wifey are doing well

A frew things I would be interested in on the double din
1.) 25 rms output (if not its okay I do have an amp I could use if I had too)
2.) Bluetooth
3.) 3 sets of preamp outs (front, rear, sub)
4.) 3 usb ports (1 for evoscan cable, 1 for another device such as ECU+, and THumpdrive)
5.) Wireless
6.) External mic or rear port to add an external mic for bluetooth.
7.) GPS antenna for offline navigation programs like Navfree
I never get in on stuff like this, because I'm honest enough to admit I'm impatient and want stuff right away. To heck with paying up front and waiting 6-12 months. That's poor planning on the developer's end IMO.
I don't know what tablet Hamish is using, but I am in the process of replacing my CarPC with a Nexus 7. You can have FM via a $20 USB stick with RT2832U chip. You just need android SDR software (SDR touch is one example). I already have used it and tested it out and it works great. You can even plug in the car antenna as well. Of course, I am using just the Nexus 7, no other head unit, etc. With my CarPC, I was using a Directed HD1000 HD radio contolled via the PC. With the Nexus 7, the $20 rt2832u works just as good and much less space, wiring, etc.
Also, as another option, if you don't care about data, is to tether your phone and stream something like TuneIn or Pandora. I am opting for the RT2832 USB stick because it's non data based.
I will buy Evoscan for Android once Hamish releases it, but for now, I'm just setting up Torque to log all MUT requests that I want over a bluetooth OBD adapter. I, too, like the wireless. For digital display gauges, it's fine. I agree for logging, it will be too slow. Heck, I even think MUT is too slow and I opt for DMA. But, for digital gauges, bluetooth will be fine.
So, via the tablet, I can have:
-radio (non data based)
-phone connectivity to answer phone calls, etc
-GPS
-Bluetooth MUT logging (via OBD)
-all other bells and whistles that come with a Nexus 7
