emission state inspection cal id
Thanks for the good notes. I tried that. I ran into the typical PC com issue. I have ECUFlash and EVOScan working as always, but the PCMSCAN could find the tactrix cable. I fiddled with it for a while, trying all the com ports etc, so I will have to troubleshoot again. is there anything you guys did to get that working which is expected to be different than the other apps?
I think I may have found the calid address for ecu P/N MN132874. Beginning at 0x538C -> 0x539B the Calid appears to repeat itself 8 times, which matches the number of ecu spec numbers. I wanna say in the US we run spec 0 (not sure) but I would imagine that would correspond to the first iteration at 0x538C. It will be at least a month or two before I can have a test rig set up to try this on a spare ECU, so if anyone else wants to take a crack at it by all means.
2006 EVO IX USDM , 5Speed that has Unmodified ROM 88590015
Cal.Verf.Number: CVN1 : 78 6B 70 7B
CAL.ID: 1860A465CC
If people can post their car year: ROM # , CVN , CALID. for this information gathering would be nice. we can try to crack the codes and get another step ahead. This can be for any EVO 8, 9 ,X
If someone else wants to check their CVN for 88590015 is the same as across, or is this number different and vehicle specific?
Also I will be testing all 4 ROM's for USDM 2006 EVO IX to check if the CVN changes. and posting my results back here.

I've never seen VERIFICATION ID'S here so I thought I'd post a screenshot. I can also upload the Tehpra V7 equivalent when I remod and flash it back if anyone cares.
Just waiting to get off a full tank so I can do that final EVAP monitor.
Just to update this thread (and my posts from a few months ago): I surprisingly passed the other week heh. Tephra V7 SD as well and no red flag (just double-checked online again as I type this). Cal ID and Case ID were still "mismatched" lol, but I fine-tuned further for better live data, re-confirmed correct monitors, and set stock limiters for at least a better chance of not having a questionable/bogus CVN. In case I missed it or it was not already stated, any previously ref'd car will have its "certification type" as "referee" for testing. Hopefully this helps someone feel better about going into a test.
Just bumping this thread to see if there has been any more examples of folks getting a letter after having passed a smog check, only to later be asked to go to a referee because CVNs didn't match. I have been too chicken to get a smog test yet, so I am out of tags. Just trying to see if the community has caught up to what is thought to be a more thorough process in CA to identify if the ROMs have been written to.
Any new information on needing to manage the CVN or CALID if you are just going to a regular smog station. I believe above it would indicate the forums members experience is that only at a REF visit would you need to make sure those values are stock. Is that was is generally believed and experienced? There are several comments about getting a 'regular' smog inspection, passing, and getting a letter a few months later. Is that a thing?
Everyone is guessing at this point. I suggest not going to a regular smog station with a tune. This resulted with a friend passing smog and getting his registration, but after 1 month, Bar showed state ref for next renewal.

Can we post the actual correct and current readiness values for 88590015
I am considering reflashing to stock before a regular smog check, based on what I am reading here. I checked with several Evo shops and tuners, and they are looking at me like I am from outerspace. I send them these links, but I wonder why more folks aren't aware and informed on this stuff and how it impacts our community.
As a homework item I wanted to review what should be marked as ready and make sure I don't do that thing where all of them are set ready, and some shouldn't be.

They reflash the ECU just like everyone else. It changes the CVN just like everyone else. So, no.
Does your ROM content match the other stock 96940011 ROMs that are out there? And does the tool give a different value when run on your ROM?
