Break-thru: Reading ACD ECU with EcuFlash
Regardless, it seems like the development (especially w.r.t. the actual maps) is some ways off, so I'll probably go ahead and get a Gruppe-S ACD ECU reflash (at least to tide me over).
P.S. I'm sure you already know this, but Gruppe-S basically offers 3 different maps, so it's not like they individually tweak it for your car or driving style, you just choose which one of their 3 off the shelf programs you want.
When the development being done in this thread is finished, ideally there'd be a set of base maps you could load that would get you in the right ballpark, and then allow individual (non-real-time) tweaking of parameters to suit setup or preference.
(OP2 + latest ecuflash 2.7.0070 - IX ACD/AYC ecu in car)log windows says 'sending init 2' and then it stops
has anybody already succeed to read a IX acd/ayc ecu 'in car' ? or do I need to remove it and read it on the bench as described in previous post ?

I'm going to continue writing and adding technical guides to this page: http://www.evoscan.com/technical-vehicle-manuals
do you think the new mitsubootloader reflash method thats been added to ecuflash will help with EvoX AYC/ACD ecus? what do the new memmodels mean? is it just 512k and 768k memmodel difference? Acamus do you know?

^ Has anyone tried to download Evo6 ACD with 68HC16 reading template?
@Hamish, if you can get a picture of processor in X ACD we may get further.
I have not seen it yet.
The processors used in mitsu ecus (Colt...) differ from one seen in X models by size of a ROM. So there are 512, 768 and 1024 versions of the same processors, many
including me requested Colby to add a support.

MH8405F is used in newer Mazda ECUs.
I believe 8401 is variant of the same processor with smaller ROM.
Maybe we can get some help from Mazda community on processor type?
