Quote: Aaron's right, on my 4g64 build the FPBlack falls off in airflow after about 7500; from my experiance, there would be no advantage to reving it out that far. A larger turbo is needed to keep the 2.4 supplied at higher rpms.

2.4 7500rpms!
Sometimes i don't understand people. I'm gonna build a 2.4 to rev out but not rev out! WTF! But noone else but 20gmr points this out. I guess because buschur is buiding it, it means it's cool and makes sense. I have seen people on here post thier builds and get ripped apart. How more dumb of a build could you do then a engine to rev out but then pick a turbo that doesn't make power up top? IMO! Waste of a good shortblock. Take my built 2.0 and give me the 2.4 and we'll see the power at 9k +!!!!

Harsh words - "Wast of a good shortblock"...

I will enjoy my car very much - despite your sore opinion.

The block is in my car because of a strange twist of events - and a need for a complete bottom end.

What was your intensions with this build? should have did a 2.3 with that turbo.IMO! Aren't you posting this for feedback? Well here it is. Man up and go big turbo homie! Put that 2.4 to the test.

Thats a lot of torque, i look forward to see the final tune. Hopefully you can flatten the torque curve a bit more

Orgionally it was a built 2.0 that completely self destructed. I lost the motor, crank, rods etc.

David had this sitting waiting. The red or the black is all I want to run. If you want to see what a "big turbo" will do on a 2.4 - Then why dont you pony up the 6500 and install one in your car? However - much like my car and yours - your clutch will not hold the torque of a 2.4 and your turbo. This is my only concern as of now.

MR Turco -- The fresh gas should solve this problem. I found out only after filling it up that the station I used has been having issues. David is going to help me by draining that and filling up from the station next to him that has been proven to have quality 93.

Why would I spend 6500? I could have it built allot cheaper myself with with better more detailed parts! Give me 6500 and I'll build you a monster!

What do you mean? Check out my first build which is hella mild! I have 2 more longblocks to build. Any person that can read can put an engine together. It's the person that pays attention to every small detail of a build that makes them good. I'll be making over 700 daily driver might I add, which is not hard with these engines. And I didn't pay 6500 for my shortblock and it'll be reliable.

Your right anyone can build and engine if they can read, I have built mine in my gsx, and all in all it wasnt that much cheaper at all, and alot more running around getting parts together. Until you make 700 stop bench racing. If you end up making 700 then congrats, but dont come here and challenge david buschur to an engine build cause you wont win. If you know anything about the 4g63 then you should have heard his name before, if you havent then I dont know where you have been.

Well I defianately didn't challenge buschur to abuild contest. But noons said buschur , he said Dave I asked who's Dave! I guess thier good friends but who cares, I'll run him! If I lose work on the next build. I have bank so that's not an issue. The whole purpose of this was why build a high rev engine that you can't rev high cause of your turbo. That's lime building an all engine Evo!!!

Are you guys adding oil squirters?

Are they needed with the type of rod/piston combo being run?
