+1 e85 is worth 20 miles of driving no doubt. Buy a few 10 gal tanks and store them, thats what I do. The stations only 2 miles from me but its nice not to have to go back for weeks at a time when you come back with 50gal of it.

According to e85fuels.com there is a pump 4.6 miles from my house. Unfortunatly - that is "the way the crow flies" and it happens to be on the turnpike. Blah.

But would you run e85, or meth+93?

e85 hands down. I just don't trust meth. there are too many things that can fail & cause major problems. although a good kit should include failsafes it still seems like a hastle.

With meth you have to:
- buy a meth kit & install
- buy meth regularly & often if you get on it alot
- worry about failures (pump, jet, low meth level)

If you don't already have a double pumper & some pretty large injectors you'll need to upgrade those to get the most out of e85 on your setup though.

Oh and when you go back for tuning again see if Dave can set you up with Tephras knock indicator (CEL flashes when knock is detected). It's a good mod to have since not all 93 octane is the same.

all tephras have that, and id be very surprised if he wasn't running tephra now. I ran meth before on my 1g dsm, i used so much i had to get a 6 gal tank and mount it in the trnuk. it still only lasted a week.. meth disappears very quick and that was only 1 m6 nozzle.

Rogue are you near Wexford? If so, supposedly the GetGo in Wexford has E85.

Happy for your happiness xRoguex...but add me to the pile that wishes your bottom end's potential was trully tested as per the thread title. +1 on the 6262 or 6765 on E85 thoughts. I'm sure that'll happen soon enough though (hint hint DB). . Have fun.

You guys clamoring for results on big turbos are fools. 2.4 + A nice bolt-on turbo = mountains of torque. 400wqt by ~3700rpm is so much damn fun on the street. If you have never experienced this (or something like this) then STFU and let the guy enjoy his car

I know they all have it but it's still gotta be set up.

My thoughts exactly. Hell I havent even finished tuning my 2.3 (no real boosting) & it already makes a big diffrence on the street. I can only imagine what this motor & a black would be like & I already know I want one.

Having just cracked 1000 miles on my 2.4/MIVEC/FPBlack setup I'm gonna have to agree, for a pump gas daily driver this is a kick *** combo.

running on 92 Octane Chevron I get:
  • more than 500hp
  • more than 400 tq in an insane flat curve from 4000 all the way out to almost redline
  • spool is only just a bit later than the ix turbo on a 2.0 which has the added benefit of better gas mileage (not that I really care)
  • absolutely tame manners for that Interstate-5 5:30pm bump&go commute home.
I'm still running on a 'break in' tune, I'm sure that these numbers will improve as I get the combination dialed in better.

so far the only downside I see is tire life! I can't wait to see what e85 brings to the table!

Johnny - Do you have a copy of your build list and a shot of your dyno graph? Was 512 on a DJ or mustang?

my car didn't feel all that great at 461whp and 390wtq, so id say 450wtq+ to feel it... anything less and you're missing out imo. when i pulled timing on my map the car felt like a completely different machine, it felt held back and lazy. than I added it back and I had trouble keeping it on the road

I hope with a better fuel - I get a curve similar to yours.
