fp black BR 2.3 29psi E85 (round #2)
Those oil changes are way beyond over kill. We generally recommend at least 1,000 miles before the first oil change, anything less is kind of nuts, that is if it's being driven and not just raced. My RS, the 2.1 that just came out of it never had an oil change. I pulled the engine to try this new long rod 2 liter I built, I'd say it only had 500 miles on it but probably 100 dyno pulls and 25 or so drag passes. The engine was flawless inside, of course it should be with those circumstances. Just remember, the car can't make less than 600 whp at any boost level it ever saw, so it's pushed hard.
I kind of hate to admit this but..........I've got an '08 Mustang, 4.6 and it's supercharged, it has the original oil in it still. The car is kept in a garage that is a fairly constant tempurature. I pull the dipstick and the oil is so clean I can't bring myself to change it. The car has 1500 miles on it. I'm sure there is some engineering paper that says after 6 months the oil is no good but again, real world I don't see it, so the oil is staying in the car until it's actually been used long enough to change.
Yes, I am a back woods ***** sucka. ahaha

You built my engine so you would know more then anyone else how it wants to be broken in, i just decided to take this longer route this time with non synthetic to see if the rings get a better seal this time around. so far its at 150 across which is 10 psi more then it was before, so i know its because i broke it in wrong last time. I think running it rich + starting it up and letting it idle to operating temp then turning it off was the major issue last time. I beat the living **** out of it this time in 40-50 miles, i mean i never beat an engine that bad before.. reving it to 7k and letting off without shifting and it seemed to work

Now im going to just finish running the non synthetic and see if i can get any more seal since i have 18 quarts of vr1 i may as well use them. im going to change each one out at 500 miles then see what happens. if it doesnt go past 150 then i will have my answer.
I guess you could say the car is a race car, everytime i take it out i am WOT atleast 50-60 times. we have lots of open road around here and i beat the crap out of the car, i mean after all the mods are not for show.
the only thing i have to do is get it to the track to see what it does.Either way I think the only way to kill one of your blocks is to run it with no oil, they seem pretty damn well built, i was putting 41psi through the other one and it didnt skip a beat.
congrats on round two buddy! I think my car is going to be turned down to 30psi daily. I don't know what it was at 30psi. it was 615 at 25psi. Hope the car is running great. lmk if you need anything! also before long you will be doing a 40psi pull

Im bumping this thread to share some more information regarding e85 I have recently discovered. WHile keep in mind weather, and other misc things will take in effect as well, but I was doing some E85 spoolup tuning all yesturday and this morning and managed to get 32PSI by 3800RPM. This is the fastest ive ever managed to spool the black on my 2.3, and also did some other AFR testing pertaining to e85 as well. I like sharing and educating people so im going to post my findings below:

First you will notice the difference from just a few points of AFR from rich to lean yielded in over 30-40WHP gains throughout.. E85 may vary per vehicle and weather condition, but as is right now I gain 30-40whp going from 11.8 to 12.0-12.1's.
Notice also from the graphs here compared to the graphs in the first post on this thread, that when turning the boost controller up, I actually now get a boost spike and then it tappers off pretty hard. I think an EBC will be the answer to holding the boost throughout the RPM, and this goes to show the flaws of a manual boost controller with a semi small framed turbo.
At spool the car seemed to do the best with 12.7-12.9 AFR..
I managed to get this thing to spool so fast I couldnt even believe it myself. My car is now spinning 2nd gear from a 45mph roll with fully built suspension and only 32psi on 255/35/18s.
here is the boost log:

I hope this helps some of you do it yourself tuners
Also I wont ever forget who told me the AFR secrets of E85.... Sean Ivey
Also the timing secrets..... JohnBradley aka Aaron.

even at 32psi.. when the boost hits it just sits you back in the seat hard. it feels like the car is actually driving you.
i need to get this thing to the track... im actually satisfied with 32psi.. its enough to man handle most everything around here.
i put 8-10 cars on a modified z06 yesturday at 5:30am.
