i would try the stock turbo first with more boost and then if you want more upgrade to the fp green hta. it is up to you though.. if you want 450 then you will need the turbo upgrade. you may end up only making around 430ish tho depending on your mods on 93oct. if you changed for gsc s2 and have a good fmic, bov, etc you would get it im sure.

Good numbers for a stock head and block. Should throw some bigger injectors in it and run. E85

I wanted to post a quick update! My tuned was in the winter (temps were 50-60 degrees) and now it's 90+ everyday.

My prior tune by AWD left much to be desired and they were blaming "the drastic change in weather" when I found I was seeing regular and consistent 6-7 counts of knock.

I threw the laptop in the car today and made some pulls in 95 degree weather, a 20-30 degree difference from when Tom completed the tune. After multiple 3rd & 4th gear pulls I am still logging ZERO knock!!! Very happy with Toms work and his willingness to provide prompt advice whenever questions arise.

Noob here. Please understand if my question is stupid. Been doing alot of reading lately on the Evos.

One thing i noticed on dyno result is the HP to TQ difference. I seen alot of dyno results of HP and TQ pretty much neck to neck. How in your car there is alot if difference. Which is better to have? high torque matched HP or Higher HP and lower torque.

Again just a noobie. Don't know much all the tech talk. But willing to learn with further info.

Higher numbers in general are always better , every turbo has a different power curve based upon what it flows versus what the engine flows.
Stock block in this case so the torque is kept lower , the turbo is capable of flowing more then the stock block handles torquewise .

A good tuner as is the case here can keep the torque limited to around 400, which is generally a safe number for a street car , and then when torque starts to fall make more power up top .

How old are you?

Thanks for the info.

I am in the market for a Evo. I was just trying to do my research before i get in one. I just seems more logical to know what you are getting into before you get knee deep in some doo doo that you can get out.

I am in my mid 30s. I don't know why this is irrelevant but. i just saw something different then what everyone else was posting and i was curious why it was different. I too want a streetable Evo. But i don't want to be stranded when my engine blows up on me by over torque and so on.

One thing you did mentioned is that one torque falls, how does HP goes up? would it go up together to create hp? i guess i don't have the whole turbo thing yet.

Since horsepower is actually calculated off of torque versus RPM it will natuarlly rise with engine RPM even if torque is falling.

getsideways pretty much answered your question. the car has the ability to make 1:1 hp/tq almost with its combination but we decided not to do that for the safety of the stock rods.

dont get me wrong, i have plenty of 450tq+ stock block evo 8/9's and ive only ever seen one let go out of 200 so far so its just more so a safety precaution then anything.
