The EF4 would be my recommendation, I just can't comment on spool for the Evo X EF4 on a 2.0l as of yet

500whp is quite the goal on pump gas and in my opinion is a little too lofty for a stock block setup... If you're dead set on it though, you will need the EF4 since the EF3 or Red won't be able to do it.

What really strikes me as odd is your desire to keep stock-like spool and response. You really need to pick your priorities here and decide what your realistic goals should be. If it's stock spool/response you want then grab the EF2 and aim for 400whp on pump. If you're willing to sacrifice ~500 RPM spool with WHP in the range of 450 then the EF3 is the proper choice, but if you're set on 500whp then get the EF4, be willing to deal with lag, and plan on a full list of all the bolt-ons you can think of plus a savings account with enough money to cover a built engine.

Chris,

For what it's worth, if you put the EF4 on sale for Black Friday, I will definitely buy it. Will go nicely with the 2.4 block I bought from you. I've never had the slightest problem with anything I buy from you guys.

I would be fine with 450 to 480 whp.....let me list my current mods

UR Exhaust
UR Test Pipe
Injen UICP + 3' Intake
COBB AP - running stage 2 map
ETS 3.5' IC - coming soon
UR downpipe open O2 dump - ordered

Looking to get this turbo on with a set of injectors and fuel pump and drive....in 2 or 3 months go GSC S2 cams w/ springs and retainers and APR headstuds.

So basically I want to know if I put the ef3 on with full bolt ons...am I safe on stock motor....assume I redline the car at least once a day....for arguments saek

By the way does anyone know how the spool of ef3 compares to fp red?

I'm running ~465whp with an EF3 at the moment (albeit on E70) but in regards to the well being of your bottom end I think you'll be just fine.

Car would be running on 93 pump stock head/block.

ya know funny story no I forgot to log it but I will say it is 32 lbs and full boost about 4700 rpms. Tom was like hey jackass you didn't log everything and I was looking and I was like doh! Another thing I would like to add is I believe my pcv is either going or is shot. I do get alot of brown smoke at wot being I am on e85 and Tom believes that this car should make somewhere in the 580 hp range at 32 psi. So things to check for tomorrow for sure.

That's pretty aggressive power for stock block but it looks as if Tom is taking that into consideration for you on the timing front, looking good!
