MAP EF-series Turbochargers results thread
na its all good mang. I am a carpenter by trade and Michigan is just that slow. Thankfully my house, my cars and just about everything here but my truck is paid for so I'm not to stressed out about it, but when my company is being retarded like they are and don't want to work anyone thats when things get scarey. Thankfully the unions have work and its just making phone calls to find a company that is hireing.

Hello guys...ran across this thread by accident....I currently have a 2011 EVO X with UR axhaust..UR test pipe...Injen UICP and 3' intake...running on a stage 2 cobb...EVERYTHING else is stock (head, block, fuel system). Looking to get a new turbo...FP just came out with the new red was looking to that however I love the dyno graphs I am seeing over here.....question is I know what I can push in FP terms....however stock block and head = ef2? Can I run a ef3? Injectors, and pump already ordered...oh and I got a new front mount ETS 3.5....with that said...I am looking for about 500whp...DD...nothing crazy....trying to keep torque low for those rods...so its either one of these for the brand new ball bearing FP rep for $2500 (hella money)...btw these turbos are ball bearing correct? I got money in hand I cannot decide for the dam life of me which way to go....now this thread added another "well what if" in my mind lol. Car is not for racing...or really the track...just a DD and weekend warrior...looking for quick spool like stock...but I don't want it to die up top....goal is about 500whp with 360 or 370Tq....MAP fellas i emailed you guys some questions...shoot me an email semihdemir@msihq.com. Thanks.
Well I can answer this and I am sure some others can too. I have an ef4 with stock block and head with upgraded valvetrain with cams I am making over 500 whp. Hope that answers the question asked.

These are journal bearing turbos with upgraded thrust and oiling components, we've been having very good luck so far. In regards to turbo selection Kracka is nearing the maximum output of the EF2 on pump gas (~400whp) so the EF3 would be a better fit for your power goals. Spool is about 400rpm later than the EF2, but both the compressor wheel and turbine wheel are larger so the power capabilities are much higher. Unfortunately, we don't have much testing as of yet for the Evo X version of the EF3 so I couldn't tell you for sure that 500whp on pump is attainable, but we should have more results soon. Is an Evo X FP Red capable of 500whp on pump?
