MAP EF-series Turbochargers results thread
As far as 500whp on an EF3 if we are talking dynojet than I'm confident I've crushed that already making 478 on a MD. That was at only 23psi at 7K. I've since added a different fuel pump and 1450s and went from 28 to 34 at peak holding close to 30 at 7K so I expect to make well over 500 next trip to the mustang dyno which should equate to high 500s on a DJ maybe close to 600 stay tuned

^HA Hate mail , i dunno. I have yet to hear a bad thing.
Who is knocking it? Do they have firsthand experience tuning\owning it?
Lastly who are they fanboys of.
If its vendor A I could show them pictures till their eyes bleed of failed turbo bearings on road race cars.
If its vendor B try calling them Monday and see if you talk to a live person.
Im not bashing these vendors Just stating fact.
Maybe i should not have ranted , You made a good purchase and the best guys to deal with in the Buisiness is MAP .

Opinions are like *******s, everyone has one. You'll also notice everyone has a "buddy" who has something better, had something fail, etc. Unless it's actual firsthand info with proof to back up the claims so I can see it with my own eyes I completely disregard it...especially on an internet full of nutswingers and fanboiz.
Every product is going to have failures unfortunately. Find me a turbo manufacturer that doesn't have any reports or claims of failure. The problem is the majority of the time it's caused by an force out of the control of the turbo builder such as tuning, installation, oiling, etc.

Thanks.
I call bull**** for the fact that even with a ef4 on e85 on a dynojet with a wg completely closed at 23 lbs I only made 261 whp on a dynojet at 4464 rpms. If you want to equate to a mustang dyno thats only 222 whp. So unless you have some secret about how you make all that extra hp and I don't buy a stroker will make that much more so that throws that out I would like to know.
*** it looks like it is official and i am now part of the map ef3 family! ***
i just pulled the trigger and i feel good about it.

Thank you chris and the rest of the maperformance family.

By the way, i am still interested in getting that avatar of yours put on the back of my evo.

MAP Stage 2 2.3L (10.5:1 CR)
MAP ported head
FP4R camshafts
MAP EF3 turbo (ported/coated)
plus all the supporting mods you can think of
I helped assemble this build, have ridden in this car numerous times, and was present for the above dyno run. It's all legit.

There's another local build with a very similar setup to PlanoEvo's (MAP 2.3L, EF3, etc.) who made ~430whp on 93-octane and ~490whp on E85 (Mustang dyno). I don't have charts for this one yet, but it's the guy who bought my old IX.

Chris hes talking about the power curve.. not peak power numbers.. he only knows what his car did in 3rd gear though.. plus his tune is not finalized yet.. his cars over 500 right now on your turbo / stock block.
also Cobbs dyno reads what 5% lower then a dynojet? it reads a bit higher then the average mustang. either way Brian stop comparing a 2L to a built 2.3L!!!! LOL.

No I have no doubts it will make 500 hp Chris. I am saying at 23 lbs on e85 its not gonna make 500 hp on a mustange dyno as he claims.
