I am certainly trying to, issues with non-turbo stuff have prevented me from having any fun with it.

It'll get solved soon though, I have faith.

1650cc or 1680cc? The 1650 low impedance were basically phased out due to control issues due to their size, at one point FIC offered an easy tune box to help but that has since been discontinued.

No issues. I just thought I had a great idea land in my lap. I will stay the path for the 1450cc FIC injectors for my build.

Break...

I sent you a PM in reference to that beauty I bought from MAP about two weeks ago.

Well even though we didn't really get to tune all the way, I thought I'd share my story and results so far! So Thursday I received my EF3 turbo in the mail, after work I headed down to Evolution Dynamics in Dallas to get it put on along with a few others and tuned.

After a few hours we successfully put on the turbo, O2 dump, and stock ported manifold, so we headed off to "Kahn's Heartbreak Dyno" right down the road. We loaded the Evo up on the dyno, and began our first pull. On the first pull on 26psi the car made 423awhp and 392ft/lbs of torque. After the pull found out that my IDC was at 133%! This was very puzzling to us, since I have FIC 1100cc and Walbro 255. So we put another Walbro in and began to start our second pull, getting to third and going WOT, a loud bang and spark came from my engine bay :l Quickly stopped the car, and looked under the hood, anti freeze was all over the place. Found that a freeze plug flew out, so we had to wait until the next day to go to the dealership to buy one. So I, unfortunately, was stuck there for the night.

The next day came and we picked up a freeze plug from the local Mitsubishi dealership, placed it in the freezer, and went right to work on the car. After replacing the plug and putting everything back together, we started the car...no good. White smoke was coming out of my exhaust and under the car. Figured now that it was a blown head gasket. We pulled the plugs, and looked inside the cylinder. And sure enough, it was the head gasket. So I ended up leaving the car there and will be going back sometime this week once fixed, for final tuning. Cross your fingers that everything works out. lol

Anyways, here is my current set up:
2005 Evo VIII MR
-ETS Intake
-ETS Upper and Lower Intercooler Piping
-ETS 3.5in Intercooler
-Greddy Turbo-Back Exhaust (w/ Ebay DP)
-MAP O2 Housing/Dump
-Stock Ported Manifold
-MAP EF3 Turbo
-Grimspeed 3 Port Boost Solenoid
-HKS 263 Cams
-Walbro Fuel Pump
-FIC 1100cc

Just wanted to give you guys some quick numbers, will post final numbers up and dyno sheet in the later week.

Thank you to the guys at ETS, MAP, and Kevin D and all the workers who helped at Evolution Dynamics!

As I read the beginning of this, I thought I was about to read a horror story. It looks like investing in ARP head studs and a new freeze plug are a must before tuning for massive power.

For sure, I'm getting a new head and ARP head studs this time hah. And yeah the freeze plug issue is already resolved. I'm also probably going with a double pumper also instead of the single walbro. Since I'm running E85 and trying to make 450>.

Is there an adverse effect for using "used" ARP head studs? As for the freeze plug, was that just a standard OEM replacement part? For the double pumper, I already have the DW300 fuel pump as I am hoping to NOT have to use a double pump set up. If your goals are 450whp on E85, I believe you can achieve that rather easily. I, too, have the EF3 and looking forward to installing it once I return from Afghanistan.

I think I'm first one in the world that broked an EF4 turbo ...

my mechanic tried to tune my car then the first run he blows my engine with tons of knocks then I made sure that he doesnt know how to tune ..so the turbo got a small pieces from the engine and the fan + turbine exhaust have broken ........
I'm sooooooooooo sad for all what he has done ....
