Can you overlay a similar setup with S2's? I am curious how much the S2's vs S3's impact spool on a 2L.
So this is the closest back to back that I have for what you asked.

The difference is the car with S2s also had meth injection (why the power is way up) but it was an VIII with a Black, no O2 dump, AEM tru-boost, gasoline, GSC valvesprings, stock intake, etc. As you can see though the cams didnt hurt spool at all in this combination (Jean's) compared to the S2 car.

Thank you for posting and I will add S3's to the list of mods. Looks like the S3's just pull harder on the topend with little loss in spool.

Well this last dyno sheet is deceptive because the S2 car (red) had methanol on it. The S3 certainly make more top end when it can run more timing

I was curious if the 25 or so more wtq around 4.5k rpm generated by the S2 car is contributed by the smaller cam or more timing as a result of running meth. Wondering if you would give up that torque "kick" by going to a larger S3 cam even without losing spoolup. Thanks!

When did the spray start with the meth? I mean the power curve isn't bad at all, but where you said it also had meth that does make a difference.

Actually pretty awesome for a stock block on low octane fuel. The torque comes on surprisingly quick and holds super steady. I'm normally not a big fan of turbos this large running below their efficiency range, but I think this turned out pretty strong.

11psi and all in by 18psi on the S2 car...that actually shows more power. Meth wont hurt spool though. The S3 car (the lowered power one in that comparo) still spools pretty much identical to the S2 car on all the other same mods. Obviously if I had put meth on the 2.0L S3 car or racegas I would have ran more timing out the top and the Black would have made even more with the combo.

Yeah with my pump gas tune my meth comes on about 10 or so and runs up to about 30psi.

FP DBB Black
GSC S3 camshafts
GSC Springs
FIC 1050s
ETS 3.5" FMIC kit with pipes
ER SD intake and tune
Omnipower 4 bar MAP sensor
Competition Stage 2 clutch
AEM Tru-Boost
92 octane

Originally the plan was to also install a JDL O2 dump and some other parts but the need for a clutch cancelled that for the time being. Currently it only has a ported Megan O2 housing but we'll be revisiting that as soon as Jean is ready.

The results-

We have done this combination before on E85 and I am always surprised at how well it idles on the 2.0L. I definitely dont suggest these cams for less than a Black but as you can see its making 444whp at 26psi with no dump where most of our S2 cars have a dump, 28-29psi, and make 450. The blip at the end wasnt real apparently I am losing a 5 bar MAP sensor on the dyno.

Congrats Jean

Aaron
thanxs aaron i will be visiting soon again

aaron,
can you send me the run file? I'd like to compare to my 7670 on 92 octane. Thanks!
