If you have E85 down the street, just switch to it ASAP. It makes a HUGE difference. But be prepared to upgrade your fuel system... Wally 255 just can't handle it. You'll make over 500 whp on E85 with a good tune. I would've kept going with mine but ran out of fuel, after I drop the double pumper in I'll be good to go.

Subscribed for more evo 8 results. Trying to decide on the ef2.5 or FP red

*edit*
Are you guys getting these turbine/compressor ported and or with the coating or just like they come from MAP?

...
You know those turbos are in different HP classes. The EF2.5 is most directly comparable to the HTA Green.

I had my turbine side ported and also went with coating. I just hate how they look when they aren't. No pictures yet though unfortunately.

Double pumper installed and working properly. Sent Tom a log. Send me a new map, Tom! Should have results today/tomorrow. It's all up to Tom!

Got mine in finally! Few question for you 2.5 guys. What oil line are you guys using and if I had no extra springs in my bag does that mean the extra 5psi spring is installed already?

Cannot wait to get this thing on and tuned.

Sorry for delay guys... been really busy.

Tom sent me a new ROM last night, tested it... ****, it's fast. Making at least 460-480 whp... and AFR's are still 10 flat across the board so it needs to be leaned out a LOT. Expecting 500-520 whp on the Virtual Dyno here... if Tom has time, we'll be trying to really dial it in tonight so I can post results. This turbo + double pumper kicks major *** though, that's for sure.

Also, I may, in the next month or two, depending on circumstances, be upgrading the valve springs/retainers, possibly switch to GSC S3 cams, and going with Curt Brown ported exhaust and intake manifolds along with a bigger throttle body, plus SpoolinUp COP! Gonna rev this sucker out to 8500 and push it to 33-35 psi on stock block, see how she does. I'm also looking into buying a C6 Z06 to go along with my Evo, so that might get in the way of progress.

If she blows, it's getting a 2.3L or 2.4L stroker, and maybe an upgrade to EF4 or ball-bearing FP Black. But Tom is such a solid tuner that even with all of that, and lots of boost, it'd still be pretty damn safe on stock block so if I go through with all of that, I wouldn't be too worried.

But as of right now, I am very happy with the power this turbo puts out and we're not even done yet.

You have just described my exact set up lol. Hopefully I can get tuned here by Tom and you can decide if it's worth it. You running a dump or just standard DP?

Standard 3" DP. I had a recirculating dump/o2 from MAP but sold it. I don't think I'd go to open dump, it's too damn loud for California. I'd like to actually quiet down my exhaust a bit... going to swap my straight test pipe for my cousin's resonated test pipe, and maybe add in another resonator to my Greddy. Would like the car to be even more sleeper than it already is.

I'd love to see the results if that's your setup. I'm guessing you can do 550+ whp on stock block if you have the fuel to support it.

I'm stuck on 93 for daily basis here and I'm thinking about c16 for a track fuel. Not lucky enough to have ethanol even within 75 miles.

Ok, so, update: here's where we're at right now:

Car has tons and tons of fuel still. This is still running like a 10 AFR flat, has lots of leaning out to go. Tom says it's making way too much torque, so gotta detune it. Oh how I wish I had a stroked/built motor...

Looking good! How much boost right now? Have you done your 91 map yet? I'm curious to see how that looks.
