Hey Don
Heres a "White Paper" done on E85 & corrosion. Its not completely rooted in scientific analysis but offers some interesting opinions

Just a quick update. Driving with a Gus modded oem DV is rough. It's all or nothing power and is frustrating to drive partial throttle. The worst is getting to speed where DV opens a bit early and car falls on its face.
Anyway, I switched in a Synapse DV. And wow! Car feels like stock smoothness driving partial throttle!!
So for you guys trying to mod your oem DV to hold more boost by drilling into the bottom diaphragm vent, don't do it!
And if you think Synapse DV doesn't work, it held 30 psi between 4,000 and 5,000 RPMs, where my crushed oem DV would spike and drop back to 28psi. And going to work this chilly morning, I engaged clutch in 1st gear at 1500-2000 RPM, and gassed it. Tires started squealing 3500-4000 RPM screaming to redline. Wowzers, that was FUN!!! This 71HTA is absolutely AMAZING down low and mid way!

Which Synapse DV did you get? Universal or vehicle specific? How did you connect it port wise. A? B? Lol sorry eager to try something new.
Is it this one?

To be honest, I was iffy about this DV because the valve is open at idle. But after testing it, it dors work better because it idles so much better when you first get off throttle and engaging 1st gear from a stop is better too. I feel there is more instant torque to make engaging clutch easier. I'm not sure what people complain about on these units, but I'm digging it so far.

What was the turn around like with Arlington and your cylinder head?
I have mine off again because of a leaking guide or valve and I'm losing faith in my local machine shop up here in the bay. I have a spare 4B11 head I am thinking of sending off to a shop.
How was your overall experience with Arlington?

As you know, I'm a perfectionist and before I went with Arlington, I phone interviewed multiple shops and they were the only one that satisfactorily answered my methodical questions. They are not the fastest shop that will turn your head around in a week because they don't and won't cut corners. They are the go-to shop of most racers here in SoCal and I trust them like they are my brother working on my engine. Their motto is "why do anything if you don't do it right from the start?"
Give them a call and interview them for yourself.
