I'd rock the red because it comes up so well on a 2.1 but I've got a biased opinion I feel the red is well matched for these cars as a do anything turbo and be fun around town, auto x or road course.

A 2.3 MHI black would be alot of fun also at moderate levels.

Based on my experience dealing with RR they wouldn't let him leave with an unsafe tune. E85 is a hell of a drug. The true AFR of E85 at a Gasoline 14.7:1 is ~9.85:1 so at a WOT ~11:1 your at like a 7.32:1 you can imagine how much alcohol you are dumping in there. This really helps with those blow dryer like conditions.

I don't plan on running this 71 long. I have a Red and Black sitting in my living room. I'm thinking Red next on my stock bottom and save Black for 2.1 stroker. What do you think?
I actually really like the way the dynapack works. It allows tuners to do just what you where talking about, dynamically create different amounts of load on the car for simulating all kinds of conditions. There is also like a 0% chance of the car hopping off

It also eliminates tire traction problems which can be misread as weak power point where a new tuner could try more timing to smooth out curve.

So I should use Red on stock bottom and for 94mm stroker? Both are MHI hotsides.

Did you talk to Sam about it?

I did and he showed me actual dyno graphs of each. I recall peak torque for Red cam in about 4300rpm and Black was about 4800rpm on stock blocks. I'm looking at about 1000rpm difference for Red and 2000 for Black. Red is tolerable but Black will be tough to get used to.

Well then at this point it probably comes down to your use case / preferences, which is pretty hard to for anyone else to figure out. I vote drive it with the 71 for 90 days to solidify your impressions then swap it out and see if you like it or not. Beyond what the numbers on the screen say, as in how you like it in your use case.

Good idea. I better save this tune in case I go back to 71.

Having a hot spare is never a bad thing. If the red needs to go out for service or what ever you have something you can throw in and have a tune for it ready to go. If you decide to stick with the Red that is.

I have nothing but respect for Sam. He automatically modded my DV to max out my 71HTA.

Holy batman, it is pretty impressive and seems like you can rev it out to around 7500RPM and still get good power there

boost drops to 21 psi at 8000, so it's all fun up to 7500rpm.
