The Magnus rear subframe claim of -40 pounds includes removing the sway bar, moustache bar, and diff side mounts It replaces both aluminum subframes.
Just off the top of my head:
~11 pounds for the sway bar
~16 pounds for the moustach bar
~8 pounds for the side mounts
Pulling the swaybar and using the moustache bar eliminator and aluminum side mounts will get you about 30 of those pounds. The Magnus subframe saves you about 10 pounds overall.
As for electric power steering, the Toyota MR-S steering pump is the way to go. Most of the newer stuff is CAN-BUS and goes into a low pressure limp mode without the CAN-BUS data. I probably wouldn't waste your time with Ebay or looking used. The electric car guys and hotrod guys all know about this pump and they usually go for $350+ used and $450+ rebuilt.
You can buy brand new from Toyota for like $550 if you have a minor hook up with dealer parts. You can get the mating connectors from Toyota too.

As for the power steering, that is what I had in mind. I have come across numerous links for pumps and pigtails. It's not cheap, probably $1000 to swap over to electric power steering but I think it is worth it.
Ok here is a question for you guys. Im looking at swapping the front brembos to the eclipse gt front brakes to be able to fit a 15" wheel and also shave a good bit of weight from the brakes themselves. Now the car is street driven, but only drag raced... my question is would one be able to scallop the eclipse rotors to shave more weight? Not concerned about the loss of braking power as i will be using hawk hp pads with them or something similar.

I finally decided to get serious and convert my full weight evo to a drag car. Here's what I've been doing the past 3 days with my son Austin's help. haha yeah she's no light weight but better than stock. Took it to the track the other day. Virtual dyno was showing 680awhp/600tq on the street at 42psi but after I added some timing it started spinning through 3rd so I don't really know the power. I'm guessing over 700awhp. I only got two messy passes in

yep, you dont want cast iron calipers. one of the lightest and cheapest calipers you can use are the ones from the C4 or C5 corvette. I think the pre 1988 were single piston and the newer years were dual pistons. they perform well also since BEAR brakes used them for brake upgrade kits.
