That's impressive. Full interior? You never removed the back seat?

Correct, back seat still in the car. Back seat doesn't really weigh much anyway. However, I do have (2) NRG carbon fiber front bucket seats.

I totally get the weight reduction thing, but Evo's are not torqueless wonders like N/A Honda's, so weight is nowhere near as critical to performance. Honestly, I've gotten my IX MR down to roughly 3100 lbs. with full interior, and I can't tell you that I've been able to notice any real difference in performance yet. Maybe when it's down below 2800 lbs, but that's a lot of hacking, gutting, and dollars spent on weight reduction parts that I'm not really interested in right now.

Very true. I mean if you had identically powered cars and one weighed 3,200 and one weighed 3,000 then you would notice a differnce. It may not seem like much but every bit helps and it adds up

Gutted trunk interior
Bride Lo Max seats + takata 4pt

I have a lot of pefomance upgrades piping, fmic, intake etc bolt on stuff that im sure adds up to another 25lbs but the things ive listed will help you drop an easy 150lbs! i still have full a/c and cabin interior

So I finally got my car weighed yesterday as I had my car corner balanced. Its an 05 SSL (aka fat as f*** )

With me in the car as well as a little over 1/2 tank of gas it came in at 3403. After taking into account my weight as well as fuel it comes out to about 3190 which is ~80# less that stock according to this:http://www.vorshlag.com/tech_evoweights.php

I've read through countless weight reduction thread however have yet to really focus on shedding the weight. I am now at that point where I would like to work dropping some weight now and find it crazy how light some of your cars are with supposedly such little work done.

Does anyone have a detailed spreadsheet compiled with all the weight loss mods people have done to date? I know lists are floating around but I wasnt sure if there was something consolidated...

I know how important it is to cut the fat but I dont want to go crazy given that my car is still a dd so I refuse to remove crash beams or really hack it up.

it's probably been said before, but the carpet is heavy so i shaved all the padding and took the metal reinforcement plates and re installed the "lightened" carpet back in. The best part of this mod is that it looks like stock and no one can tell the difference

I did the same thing. Had no clue there were metal plates until I pulled it out... It's not a big deal, but you can feel the uneven floor without the plates. I pulled all the padding and stuff from the carpet and kick panels. I can definitely hear more gravel getting tossed up from my sticky tires when the windows are up

I know the post I am quoting is old but "Where do you get your open barrel splices from?"
