To patch drilled hole on chasis front panel....

What is the best method for the above?
Heard that welding will cause rust easily at the patched area...
any bros can help with my problem?

weld it and paint it.

thanks for the reply...
but i have heard from frds saying the rust will spread from the inner side... meaning it wont be visible from the painted area.... till it get real serious

??? man if you weld it and paint it immediately you will be alright. as long as you get some good paint and a nice coat

+1 on painting it....bare metal or weld spots will rust cause they are exposed to the elements. If you seal it w/ primer and paint then you wont have anything to worry about.

There is a kind of putty called "quicksteel" (essentially steel fibers in epoxy);most auto part stores will carry it. I've used that to seal small holes without any problems caused by rusting.
