You can use your factory mounts on the space where the hvac controls used to be. You'll have to use a kind of u-clips to make the holes usable with a screw. I can send you instructions on how to do this. Email me.

Speed clips is the correct name for the u-clips I mentioned. For the gap between the dd and the jp trim, search ebay for "kenwood trim" and you'll find an oversized trim that you can cut to size to cover the space.

This is still by far one of the best, easiest, and not too costly, DIY for any evo owner that wants a double din!!!!! mine is still looking nice to this day.

That will fill the space behind the jdm 2 din trim and the insides will not be visible. If what you mean is that you want a more flush like look between the trim and the hu, then it will be a bit difficult. I used that trim to hide the insides, which was all I wanted, but the trim would need some custom fab work to make it look flush.

Wow its been almost 6 years since i post my HOW To HVAC unit mod and looks like there are still old and new evo owners around that's doing it. Its a great feeling that i can give at lease a little contribution to my former evo community. Thanks to all for the kind word and appreciation. I hope some day i can own again one of the best car i owned.
