Yes my controls work perfectly. I just reran all the cables down to the lower cubby and it worked fine. Do you have an 8 or 9? Wonder if there is a small difference between the 2?

look point blank if you guys are coming in here asking if this is hard? the answer is NO AS LONG as you have a full free day and someone willing to help out on the project. it took me early morning saturday til almost night time that day to finish it up. the only hard part i felt was the removing the A/C wires other then that it was all cake as long as you have someone helping you out.

Sorry but i lost the pic on the 1st page. The metal part is the one inside the lower cubby left part. If you already pulled out your climent control unit and try to installed it on the botton your will see that it wont fit and that metal thing is in the way. Thats the one you have to cut. Is easier to cut that if you remove it by unscrewing the bolts.

Instead of cutting the metal pieces, it makes much more sense to simply remove them. They are brackets that are mounted left and right. Simply remove the 10mm bolts that hold each one of them in. I have done this with success. No change in structural integrity. (when removing the bolts, watch your hands. these brackets are unfinished and sharp as heck.)

note: I did this for a carpc project that did not require using the brackets to mount a double-din head unit. if you plan to use these brackets for mounting purposes, you may as well modify the brackets and keep them in.
