I think I can say I have everyone beat here when it comes to perfection (I even used a level, call me neurotic but I'm an absolute perfectionist). It takes ALOT of time and patience, but anyone can do it with the proper tools. It mostly careful cutting, measuring, and a whole bunch of sanding. I'm toying with the idea of maybe modding them for people who don't want to take the risk of ruining theirs. Well, here are the pics of mine, it took me a couple of days to complete, but was time well spent . I'd have to say the part I'm most proud of are my perfect edges.

everyone?

Your's does look really good, and your right, the correct tools makes ALL the difference.
Don't try to dremel this one guys. I highly recommend a belt sander.

I like my edges better . Good job man, that's the way it should look. I was actually just discussing how I wanted to keep mine OEM silver, but that black is looking REALLY good. Got me thinking now.

Thanks man! ya I personally think the black makes them blend into the relocation kit better instead of looking like a piece that was relocated from somewhere else.

I agree, you did a great job on your edges. I used a table rotary sander, which you can see on my flickr page if you follow my links. What tool did you use? I think those who try using a dremel are seeing how impossible it is to get a straight edge by hand. Also, its a must to buy new stickers. www.mitsubishiparts.net. = 9bucks.

Nice, I used a finishing sander for my edges. I put the edge to the sander at the perfect angle, for 2 seconds flattening out the corner, then rounded it off in a sweeping motion in intervals. Your plate came out absolutely great though, and just pushed me to make mine black. BTW if you don't mind me asking what paint did you use? Oh, and I totally agree with you on the Dremel thing it should ONLY be used for preliminary cuts. Every surface should be sanded down to size to achieve perfection.

Ooops sorry. If I remember correctly I used the Duplicolor Bumper Paint. It has a kinda texured finish. I think that or a Satin Black Krylon Plastic paint would work nicely.

I recommend satin black because:
Gloss = Too Shiney - out of place
Flat = Collects dust, hard to wipe clean
Satin = Just Right

Nice. Yeah I have my heart set on a satin finish as well. I was thinking Krylon, but wasn't sure.
