the easiest solution to relocate you climate control for 2din display
I finally got my trim piece installed and it looks a whole lot better than I thought it was going to. The gap is a bit annoying, but only really noticeable on the bottom. However, because of lighting, the bottom gap is harder to see anyway:
Here are the pics of how mine turned out. The HVAC relocation looks little strange because the trim I have is from a regular Lancer, so I painted it with the closest-match plastic spray paint I could find.

I think I can say I have everyone beat here when it comes to perfection
(I even used a level, call me neurotic but I'm an absolute perfectionist). It takes ALOT of time and patience, but anyone can do it with the proper tools. It mostly careful cutting, measuring, and a whole bunch of sanding. I'm toying with the idea of maybe modding them for people who don't want to take the risk of ruining theirs. Well, here are the pics of mine, it took me a couple of days to complete, but was time well spent
. I'd have to say the part I'm most proud of are my perfect edges.

Your's does look really good, and your right, the correct tools makes ALL the difference.
Don't try to dremel this one guys. I highly recommend a belt sander.

I agree, you did a great job on your edges. I used a table rotary sander, which you can see on my flickr page if you follow my links. What tool did you use? I think those who try using a dremel are seeing how impossible it is to get a straight edge by hand. Also, its a must to buy new stickers. www.mitsubishiparts.net. = 9bucks.
Thanks man! ya I personally think the black makes them blend into the relocation kit better instead of looking like a piece that was relocated from somewhere else.

Ooops sorry. If I remember correctly I used the Duplicolor Bumper Paint. It has a kinda texured finish. I think that or a Satin Black Krylon Plastic paint would work nicely.
I recommend satin black because:
Gloss = Too Shiney - out of place
Flat = Collects dust, hard to wipe clean
Satin = Just Right
