Sure you can! Buy my used tranny and have it rebuilt by TRE. You end up with TRE Spec transmission for $1800-$2200. It all depends on what's needed for work.

Happens to me too sometimes. I think I shift so fast it doesn't lock into second. Now I make sure clutch is on the floor and it locks into second.

I think that might be my problem i had the 15 k service and all fluids changed at 12k.... I think when i get my next oil change i will get bg syncoshift. Where can i buy that at? All you people telling me to get a new tranny thats crazy. Who the hell would spend almost 3 grand on a tranny because there 2nd gear grinds on occasion. 17 k on stock clutch and you tell me to buy a new tranny. Thanks for the ****ty imput. To those who actually helped thank you

Part of the problem is as other have indicated: You just have to push the pedal farther than what you think it should need to. The stock EVO is a little strange in the clutch adjustment. When the engagment/disengagement point seems a little high, that's what it takes to get full release when you push the pedal all the way down.

We found that part of the problem is also a clutch issue, complicated by engine mods. The more power and lighter the spinning crank assembly, the worse the gear grind will probably be. We made some changes to our clutch to improve the design and the feedback has been really good. Some other clutches like the Exedy Twin also are reported to shift a lot better than stock.

The experiment I would like to do sometime is to compare a stock EVO that is having shifting problems before and after our design modification to a stock clutch (just he mod, not the whole ACT clutch) just to get an direct comparison. The problem of course is the that the labor is a killer. Maybe if someone is game and is having a stock clutch swapped out we can give it a try. Any volunteers?

I think the weather has alot to do with it. The one day it was nice out like 3 weeks ago I had no problems what so ever. Now when im shifting at high rpms i tend to stay all the way on the clutch till its all the way it second. Before i was tending to let the clutch out as i was shifting and i think thats what some of the problem was from. Cause before when i was shifting real fast i didnt tend to realize that my hand was moving faster than my foot, now i make sure that i do.
