Ok so if you fill with diesel wouldn't that be getting into your oil? I'm still confused about installing empty or with diesel in the lifter

 

the amount is negligible, diesel is very oily, and I did an oil change anyway, once I was done. I figured it was worth the extra $25, just in case, as I had the same concern.

**edit: forgot about this post. I actually ended up not leaving the diesel in; It wouldn't allow me to put the cams in without pushing down on the valves.

Letting the car idle till the tick goes away shouldnt cause any damage.

 

The 4g63 is an interference engine. Despite what the service manual says, lifters are to be installed empty with all fluids pumped out.
