yes but it is supposed to be down by the turbo. Your picture tells me you are missing at least the one restrictor on the compressor outlet hose.

Well I'm going to have to wait and see. I checked with the Mitsubishiparts.net, my hose kit is STILL backordered, and their shipper is on vacation.

Otherwise I can just sit around and theorize about what's going on under the hood of my Evo. When I get on it, it does feel like there's a dead spot as the power tries to come on. It makes a decent amount of power (while it whistles like a big rig); at least the dealer was able to improve it. I'm still wondering about that BOV sound under boost, I'm wondering if I'm going to be chasing a leak next. I wish I had a healthy evo to compare it to.

I considered getting the part at a local dealer, although there might have been an equal wait. The costs would have been about the same. I hope I don't have to cancel the order and go local. Is anyone else having problems trying to get this part?

Rob

STILL waiting for the necessary part from mitsubishiparts.net. Thier website calls for shipping in "4-10 days"; read "4-6 weeks", perhaps even more. They are offering to chase the part down dealers that have it in stock, which looks like I may wind up paying more for the part to get it; dealer cost plus shipping.

I'm still not betting that these hoses are going to cure all my ills, I'm still wondering if the BOV is doing it's job. That may be the next aspect with this bug hunt. I proably need to get the pieces necessary to make a pressure tester for it and see how it reads.

You should be able to squeeze the hose and feel the restrictors. There is one near the boost solenoid, which looks to be gone in your pic. The other one is off the the turbo before the "T". It looks like they moved the "T" up near the boost solenoid.

I have a semi-complete hose set w/ the restrictor in the line before the boost solenoid. It is brand new. It is missing the restrictor and line form the turbo though, because that is what i needed. I will sell it to you if you want, but make sure you have the restrictor near the turbo first.

I just bought the set 2 weeks ago.

When I took the photo of my setup (the dealer concocted that), I checked for restrictor pills. None at all from what I can tell. That's why I am at a loss for the performance of the rest of the system, I need to wait until this aspect is working properly. I can't diagnose the sounds it makes (like the BOV-ish noise under load) until the hoses are correct. I don't have a healthy Evo to check it all against.

Is there anyone else going through trouble getting this part?

Question

Got the part, put it in, works fine. I get about 19.5 psi at full honk.

I saw a thin film of oil in the inside of the intake hose when I took it off (and a very small drop on the impeller neck where the intake hooks up). It looks like it comes from a hose from the valve cover. The oil is normal?

Cool... Glad to hear you got it working. Does it feel like a completely different car now??
A little oil from the cam cover is OK... No worries. Worry about puddles of oil in the intake.
Enjoy!!

It feels a lot better, not nearly the dead spot in the mid to upper range. I've been looking for opportunities to try the car out, instances that won't put me in jail. I got tried by a late model Trans Am (non WS6) from 70mph, but he was able to hold on to me to about a car legnth or two. Didn't down shift, probably should have.

I need to check my conections again to make sure everything's tight; winding it up sometimes I only see 18psi. I don't know what the boost profiles should be, or how the WG goes about opening on the power curve. It only seems that I see full boost when I really get on it.

BTW, the hoses I took out had no pills.
