Yes you will have to break it back in becuase you need to mate the pistons and rings with the inside cylinder walls. It may feel like it runs better to you because you will have brand new compression values, assuming there is nothing else wrong with your engine. Just out of curiosity what happened? Melt a piston, turbo throw a blade? Any other parts/systems damaged?

I'll bite..

That's not the cause--6500 miles on oil, no biggie.. you either had a defect from the factory, low oil level, or your cousin was beating the living sh%^ out of your car.

buggy

I hear many horror stories from ppl letting friends drive their evos and breaking them.

It should drive the same if the dealerhsip knows what they are doing.

I'll give you a bit of advice DON'T LET YOUR FRIENDS DRIVE YOUR CAR, this happened to me and well i had to fix it myself. I learned the hard way 2. Except my car is soo moded that i fixed it myself.

You are lucky they actually covered this under warranty, since it was an operator responsible failure.
I don't like anyone to drive my vehicles either. I would rather they sit. If they do need to be driven and you can't trust them, remove the arm from the wastegate actuator. That way, at least they won't be able to build any boost.
