Do people buy these more for looks or performance? I'd say go with the one that has been proven to yield more hp for the $$$

The DC Sports Turbo manifold was dynoed in Turbo Magazine. If I remember right it produced 11.9 additional whp on the Evo they are building in there magazine.

Also yes it does look nice too.

I have a JIC header.. haven't installed it yet, but on other cars I've worked on, they did gain some horsepower/tq.. I think durability may be a primary concern for many people since stainless headers do crack over time eventually..

The truth of the matter is that gains are the sum of the parts, and not just a single component.. so a gain of 11hp could be more or less depending on your other mods..

cracking tubular manifolds, especially ones like the JIC, DC Sports and Borla, is common. A gopod warranty like Borla's million mile warranty are good, and there for a reason. Its just something you've got to accept and live with.

Just the same, I figure a Buschur 20g turbo upgrade and a tubular header would definitely increase performance quite a bit at minimal cost to the consumer. Seems like an interesting plan in opposition to buying a full off custom turbo kit.

i think if you leave the stock o2 housing on with it's brace to the block it helps alot with the cracking issue... you don't have all that weight hanging off the header.

You have a good point, I made a few brackets to support the aftermarket turbo housing like the stock one is supported..

I fail to understand why the companies that make the stainless tubular O2 housings can't weld on a stainless support bracket in the same location as the factory bracket.

While far from perfect, it's better than nothing at all!

Yeah I never understood that.. I made two patterns that I'm having cut right now, but I need to line everything up and bend it the right way on my spare engine block and head.

BTW, the Forge DV and Actuator worked out well.. the 1G DV solved my problems completely, for as much as I liked the HKS SSQV, its a drag racing type DV, and just causes too much trouble for me at part throttle driving.

Here is my setup with the JIC header, its thermal coated, but its pretty close to an equal length header, one thing I did notice is the flanges and tubing were significantly thicker than any inexpensive header out there. I'm pretty sure the part # I used is for the CP9A header, not the CT9A because I got mine quite awhile ago. The O2 housing is DNP, and is also a very thick flange... Why it lacks the support bracket I have no clue, but at one time JIC Supplied a set of stainless brackets to support it.
