Well folks, I ordered my "bullet" TBE today. Once it (and the car) arrives, I'll gladly post up a quick review that I'm sure will be a positive one.

I am dialing Buschur now, want the new version in black with polished tip to replace my BR muffler. To be honest, I love the way my car sounds now until I pick up my cell phone. I just can't hear on the phone which doesn't work for me when I'm working. This new muffler with the cat should hopefully quiet it down with minimal to no power loss, sold!

The new one by a landslide. Now if only someone could make my Evo sound like a Suby, I just love that boxer rumble...

The muffler is on the cat back section so it would be a replacement from the catalytic converter back.

This muffler is not going to be able to just go in place of a muffler on an existing system.

Dave,

Are there any fitment issues with the catback new exhst on the MR??? If not, approx. how much for an angled cut to fit slightly inside the bumper - like the stock exhst???? I would like to keep it stealthy as possible... Thanks

Put me in for a new race muffler as well. I don't mind making my current one little quieter.

Also, Can we just purchase the new muffler section and add it to your old system? I guess not Can we just purchase the cat-back section and use your old downpipe and test pipe section? Does it it have to be purchased as a TB in order to make it fit?

I am in regardless though

I would like to see a comparison between the greddy ti and this exhaust...I am trying to decide between the two...

this months turbo magazie gave the greddy ti the following results in their "exhaust shootout":

weight 13.5 lbs
piping diameter 77-80MM
98DB @ idle, 102DB @ 3000RPM
Rated at 27.5 hp over stock
Rated at 22.1 lb-ft over stock
This system was the best that was done in the exhaust shootout....I dont think this would have been the case if Buschurs was in the mix..

What do you think dave?

The new muffler section cannot be fitted to our older exhausts. IF you can weld I could send it to you as a "kit" and you can weld the tip section in and center it where you want it, this is the only way to make it work on and older catback pipe.

Yes, our catback or turbo back fit on all 2003-2006 EVO's.

kmconn9,

I am very glad you asked that. I don't know why we weren't invited to be in that recent test. It pissed me off actually.

Last time a test like that was performed we went head to head with the Greddy Ti. In that test the Greddy Ti was the highest HP producing exhaust with ours coming in 2nd. Please continue to read though. The Greddy Ti beat us by .9 hp and we beat them by 1.3 ft lbs of torque. So you have to decide from there

Their weight is 13.5 pounds, this is the catback only. Our catback weighs in at 16.5 pounds. Something to keep in mind though is they do NOT make the rest of the exhaust system in Ti, nobody does. EVERYONE's downpipe and offroad pipe weigh considably more than ours. This give us a turbo back system that weighs in at 23.8 pounds! This is 36 pounds of free weight off the car. Add this to our battery kit -20 pounds, air filter -6 pounds and pulling out your spare tire/jack and you can drop 100 pounds out of your EVO. Weight is important to consider if you are making a car fast and dependable. The less it weighs the longer parts last. Not sure on the Greddy Ti current pricing but our catback is $450 and is only 3 pounds heavier. Once you factor in the entire turboback NOBODY makes a lighter turbo back exhaust than we do.

David... is there problems with the new muffler melting, or anything of the sort on the back bumper? I know of some people who have had your system, and they have complained of it melting the bumper. The new muffler looks to be rather close to the bumper, and thats why I ask.

If so, would a heat shield completly decrease the chances?

Thanks.

great info dave, that definatly helps my decision.

My only question is the connection at the cat with your exhaust. I aviously already have a turbo-back exhaust, thus I would only need the cat-back (HKS has got to go). I am going to have to either put a flange on the cat-back, or figure out somehting else because I have emmisions to deal with and I will be reinstalling the high-flow cat when the time comes.

Any thoughts..I personally like the sound of the old muffler and the looks of the new one..
