Judge the tune, not the messanger....
No, this is like an unscientific poll - anyone can get the result they desire if they interview the right person.
I didn't read too much of the Vishnu thread, but enough to compare the situations here. Both of these vehicles had miles on them since the tune. Whatever state they were in couldn't be COMPLETELY put on the previous tuner.
Without that I'll go back to my first point. If folks want to compare tuners take your car, stock into one and test it for your application when finished (roadrace, street, drag, dyno). Then take it back to stock and take it to the next tuner and test it for your application when finished (as above).
Without a controlled situation you're dealing with single, specious cases and possibly even Evo owners with personal agendas.
I take nothing from either thread other than potentially gaining insight as to how to resolve issues when a car's running poorly. That's it.

DavidB, it would be nice to atleast let shiv know which car it was, the mods, ect.
You don't know what he has changed or done since he left Vishnu. Was the flash custom tuned by vishnu? Or is he just running Vishnu parts? How long ago was it since Shiv tuned it? Has he added or taken anything out?
I'm sure Shiv saves all his graphs, data, ect, so he could post up what the car was doing when it left his shop.
Don't forget when Shiv posted his post, he didn't even Mention Al's name, but Al jumped the gun and made it obvious that it was his own tune. You posted this topic in Vishnu's
forum which seems like you were just trying to get back at Shiv. IMHO.
Anyways, I, like a lot of other people are pretty interested in what's going on, so giving some facts would be nice.

The owner sent me an e-mail and said he didn't want his name posted. I won't because of that.
I didn't post this to turn this into a s hit fest. I posted it to show NO tuner is perfect. This is the first Vishnu tuned car I have ever seen and obviously it isn't very good.
It was a 2003 WRX with a complete Vishnu Stage 2 kit on it, set on high boost. Ecutek flash.
That's all I know about it. The point is the tune is not perfect.

Dude, your completly missing the point of the thread.
We're talking about the quality of the tune, not comparing tuners.
ANd your wrong about interviewing the right person bs, unless they are lying.
Facts are facts. And that's what everyone is waiting for.
As you stated yourself you didnt read much of the other threads, maybe you should because your way off the mark kid.

i think the point that mr buschur, and myself, are trying to get at is that NOONE has a 100% customer satisfaction rating so there is no point in knocking the other side when there is proof that your tune is flawed!
I am actually disappointed! when that car pulled on the dyno and i saw the actual numbers, i was embarrassed! i dont expect you guys to know wrx tuning companies as this is an evo forum (and a nice one!), but my car performed about as well as a cobb stage2... all that includes is an accessport and exhaust, vishnu has turbo upgrade among other things. horrible! with 14G invested into that car, it should perform helluva lot better. Even people non-biased at the tune day said it should have been better numbers than that. i could go on and on with how unhappy and disappointed i am, but i wont. let the numbers speak for themselves.
as david said, i will be in next week for a retune, we can post results then. again, im not bashing shiv and his capabilities or techniques, to his his own. the results are what matter, i personally am not happy so i went with a different tuner.
i apologize for not posting on the original thread, shiv closed it before i got a chance to...

the tuners can fight amongst themselves all they want... in the end it's the customer who wins (25bux for a dynopull)... i mean where are all those other customers with a bad brand-x tune and bad brand-y parts?? I've only really seen one example of an evo and, now, one of a wrx albeit with a brand-z tune and brand-w parts. I say they fight some more and give everyone 25 dollar dynopulls in the process
I guess after x-mas must be a slower time for some guys; i know it is in a resturant. -rob

Honestly, you do have a point. With the magnify glass on every one of Al and Shiv's tunes lately, you know they aren't going to slack off when they know their reputation is on the line. More quality tunes for us.

Well that's great Dave. But surely you can tell me who he is, right? By PM would be fine. After all, I tuned his car, didn't I? What I don't understand is that the owner says he spent $14k on the car when our Stg 2 kit is under $4k. Where do the other $10k of mods come into play? What what is high boost? Could you post a graph with boost numbers shown on one axis? I also don't understand how the AFR could spike lean before the end of the run. Did the wideband fall out? Is the fuel pump dying? Simple questions should yield simple answers.
I don't think this is too much to ask considering that you took this opportunity to tell me how much my tune stinks. At least give us the minimal amount of info necessary to substantial your claim.
And furthermore, when exactly did I tune this car? Or is it a baseline through the mail flash?
Thanks,
Shiv

I am too busy to waste my time with this kind of nonsense
However, it gets old to see someone posting threads on the internet with nasty comments like the language I quoted above. The implication of his words in that quoted text is failry unpleasant and not somehing I will soon forget.

i admit it being dumb and wont do it again, i was curious...
140+ in my stage 2 vishnu wrx... i couldnt tell you exactly how fast i was going since speedo stops at 140 and i hit that at 4th gear redline i believe, it was still pulling hard but i was getting a bit nervous...
And another:
what gear are you in?? it may not make full boost until 3rd or 4th gear..
for example...
my car isnt stock, but my boost is at only 15psi in first gear redline and then in 3rd hits 19psi right off and holds it til redline...
i havent looked much into the 06 model to know anything, so i wont pretend haha... id check the dealership first to see what they know... and i would definitely take it easy til break in period is done.

Andrew-- Could you PM me this info since I don't know how to get in touch with you.
Of course, at this point, I'm not so sure there is anything that can be done since it already looks like the wheels have been set in motion. Best of luck to him and I hope he gets what he wants
Cheers,
Shiv
