I'm wondering this as well. For -3,-3 are we talking 3 marks on the gear or 1.5. HKS gears??

The degree marks on the cam gears are cam degrees, not crank degrees. When we speak of advancing or retarding cams, we speak in cam degrees. 1 cam degree = 2 crankshaft degrees.

No, -3/-3 means -3/-3 on the cam gears. We adjust cams in cam degrees. When we speak of cam specs (degrees duration, etc.), we express that in crank degrees.

Hmmm, be sure not to use a left-handed screwdriver when you go to change it . . .

Sorry, but what's exactly a left handed screw driver???
BTW, we installed 280 crower cams and i didn't felt any power gains, what can it be???
And finnaly, which is the best setup for max power, never mind turbo lag or low end torque???
thanks a lot.

Not enough info to comment. We'd need to know everything in your setup. But of course, this begs the first question . . . was the car retuned for the new cams?

Understand that cam settings are expressed in cam degrees, but with the HKS cam gears, each notch or marking represents 2 degrees of adjustment apparently. So i guess the clarification I am after is that to achieve say a 3 degree retard, you would go to 1 and a half notches on the gear not three correct?? 3 notches would be 6 degrees yeah??
