Cant get the metal sleeve out of the front motormount. HELP!!

Im in the middle of installing the powerflex motormount but i cant get the old metal sleeve out of the mount. I already destroyed the rubber part of it. But its the metal peice that wont come out. I've tried a flat head screw driver with a hammer and also hitting the little hole on the top with a screwdriver and hammer but still no luck. Please help!!!

Are you talking about the sleeve in the middle or the outer ring? If it's the inner sleeve, there's no reason to remove that. Just toss it. If it's the outer ring, then wedge a screwdriver in and pry the metal away from the edges. Once you have a nice piece of metal to grip, bang it out with a hammer or grab with vice grips and pry it out. It eventually comes out...

You don't need to get the sleeve out of the OEM mount. The Powerflex one should have some with its own sleeve.

(EDIT: Warr beat me to it. Also, I used a drill and drilled about 20 holes in the OEM rubber bushing so I could have some wiggle room to get it out of the mount. It worked pretty well.)

Use a vise, hammer, chisel, and a lot of swearing !@?!
A chisel is much easier than a screwdiver to pound out the inner sleeve.

Yeah its the outer sleeve i cant get out. Maybe the dollar general flat head screw driver i have is not that good since it bends!LOL.. I'll give it another try with something else.

Just bring it to a machine shop and have it pressed out for $5.

Sounds like me just a few days ago. It will come out it's just a total pain in the ***...

I left it on the crossmember or whatever it's called.. I started beating it with a flathead screw driver on the lower half of the sleeve until I got half way through.. turned it over and repeated this process. Wasn't easy or pretty but I got the sleve out of there

For the next 3 I replace I'll have them pressed out.

jUST did mine last week. The quite easy way to do it, is just cut the metal ring with the metal saw (I used hand saw for $3 at home depot) Once you do that it'll come out. Took me like 5 min. Good luck

Done a few so far. Flathead and a hammer and 3min of your time. Hammer in between the cast and the metal ring and bend it. Then proceed to hammer the screwdriver into the bent part of the metal ring and 8-10 whacks later it is out.

take a simple hack saw, place the mount in a vise and put the blade through the center small hole and cut through the inner metal ring, rubber, and outter metal ring. This make it very easy to hammer out with a simple punch and hammer
