Clutch restrictor removal on Evo 8
Ok changed my clutch at 21K with Exedy Hyper Single. Got mistu to install it but they obviously messed something up.
When I first got the car the clutch would engage About 1/4 up from floor. Then after half a day of driving it started engaging higher and higher. Now it's all the way up top. I mean last 1/10th up top. I tried to change the pedal adjustment but that only changes if up top is closer to the floor or not. Still doesn't solve my issue. I think I might have to bleed my clutch line. Forgot to say I had them install a SS clutch line. I dont think they bled the system properly.
Another symptom happens when I slowly and carefully disingage the clutch at start and leave the rpms around 1.5 k the clutch grinds quite a bit. It's not smooth but clunky.
Also i now have much lowder transmission noise on decel at 3K but I think that's normal.
What do you guys think? I don't want to take it back to mistu. They will just tell me that it's the aftermarket clutch fault. Do you think they could have miss installed it? or is that impossible.

bringing an old thread back to life...i just did this tonight in addition to replacing the upper clutch line with a braided SS one and you can immediately feel the difference. the clutch grabs like it should!! i should have done this a long time ago!!
OK, I re-bled the clutch line, and it feels a lot better now. Grabs right in the middle. The dead feeling of the pedal is gone. Bled the clutch using a trick a friend taught me. Hook up a vacuum line from the nipple on the slave cylinder to a vacuum source on the intake manifold. With the car running, crack the bleeder open, and the fluid will get sucked through, bleeding the clutch line. Only bad thing is that the exhaust will smoke like crazy for a few minutes (from the brake fluid burning). Bleeding the clutch this way is quick, and guarentees no bubbles.
