Best downpipe on a IX??? Fitment/quality/craftsmanship/performance
how do you guys get your perrin to fit like a champ... mine touches the transfer case slightly at certain rpm near idle... it's terribly annoying because i was told it'd fit like a champ.
Triny: Try bending one of the two hanger brackets that are located on opposite sides of the DP. If you fold/bend the one on the opposite side away from the TC it'll draw the DP away from the TC. Also use one soft squishy factory rubber hanger on the same side of the DP as the TC and on the opposite side use a Urethane Kartboy hanger. This´ll pull the DP off centerline a bit and away from the TC.
i would agree,
the dc sports does fit fantastic if you want a one piece test pipe/downpipe.
we've never had a problem with them on the ix's, aside of adding 2 washers on the braces.

You guys that have experience with this: Is it just my imagination, or is the O2 sensor bung placement on the version 2 DC Sport DP a bit too far to the rear. I was thinking of relocating the bung more forward. Or is it O.K. where it is?
noob downpipe question regarding Evo IX
My noobishness is probably showing, but I need to ask. What is the advantage of changing the downpipe on an Evo IX? I've heard that the "Evo" downpipe needs to neck down in diameter before it reaches the cat. I assumed this applied to both the Evo VIII and IX. However, I own a IX, and during the last oil change while I was under the car, I decided to have a look at that pipe. It didn't look like it necked down at all. In fact, there was plenty of space all around it and I couldn't see any reason for it to need necking down. It was also very directly routed. It came straight down from the turbo, then gently curved 90 degrees to head toward the cat. So, what gives? Is it really worth the trouble to replace the DP on a IX? Maybe I missed something while looking down there? Could other IX owners comment?

The new Megan is great. Full 3" mandrel, clears oil pan, ACD, tie bars.

I installed my works 3' downpipe a few days ago along with their test pipe. The combo was expensive but the fitment was perfect. Cleared the tie bars like a champ and I noticed increased spool up and definite performance gains, I love it.
