This is the turbo everyone THINKS they are looking for. There are really no hard numbers out yet for it. The only cars to have it were DB's RS and Curt Brown's. Built motors, ported heads, JUN/Revolver cams, sheetmetal/ported IM-TB, AEM EMS, yada. Until I see this turbo on a properly equipped EVO with a flash, I will then make the decision. I really hope this turbo does it because as of right now, I wont get rid of my stocker because I love the instant torque and response. I cant justify spending $4000+ on a turbo kit for 40whp or so. If this turbo which is going to bolt on for $1700 or so and make even 25whp on pump more than I make now, Ill take it.

+1 I want to see what it will do on a 06 IX With the Buschur/Warrtalon stage 1
25whp more on pump would be great.

Nah man, this turbo isnt going to be worth it to throw on an intake/exhaust flash car.

Im talking a full bolt on car like mine. Manifold, 02, FMIC, cams, etc.

This is the turbo that I have been waiting for. I didn’t like the idea of stuffing a 20g compressor wheel and still having the TD05 exhaust wheel. An engine is only going to make as much HP that the biggest restriction in the engine will support. Yes the EVO has a good size turbo on it from the factory, but it still becomes a restriction after getting the normal mods. With this larger exhaust wheel it is getting very close to a 50 trim. It is a fact that people are making good pump gas numbers and decent race gas numbers with the 50 trim kits. Also the real 20g kits are also making good numbers on the dyno and at the track, but both are at a higher price tag. The size of the exhaust wheel is still unknown and I am hoping that is a reverse version of a real 20g.

I am hopefully gonna get one of the first released and I will be doing my own testing. I feel that my car is a good test mule for 90% of the people on this board. I have a 04 with 17K miles, stock clutch, 3”TBE, intake, UICP, LICP, FMIC, 272 cams, and AEM for me to tune it. I will be going from a 9.8 with the stock housing though. I am going to dyno before and after hopefully within a weekend. The changes will be the turbo, stock ported O2 outlet, stock manifold ported, and injectors. I would love to just to swap just the turbo but I am not gonna do everything twice. I also feel most people do similar changes when upgrading a turbo. My stock injectors are currently over 90% at only 20psi. I currently run 23 spike and a taper to about 20 on pump, reason for the injector change. I may see if I can max the stock 550cc at lower boost to prove that the 20g LT flow more air at similar boost levels.

No testing has been done on pump gas. Curt has driven his on the street with pump gas but no dyno testing. My RS never had pump gas in it with this turbo.

Ahh! I knew that was probably false. I had hopes though. Im curious as to why you havent tested this turbo on pump gas with someones EVO, being that there is a ridiculously huge market for a bolt-on turbo upgrade that makes additional power on pump gas.

^^ Me too but I don't think I can afford to wait a couple months like I did with the 20G-9

There is a very good reason I haven't dyno'd one on pump gas. The number one reason is there are two of these that exist. Neither of these cars had pump gas in them nor did either of us give a crap what they would make on pump gas and had we used either of these two cars someone would have cried that the cars we used were too far built to use a comparison to their own EVO.

No matter what we do, someone is going to cry about it.

The testing of pump gas will come in time for the combination each of you is looking for, I am sure. If you need it tested a certain way and are unwilling to buy one to test for your exact combination it is going to take longer to get your answer.

It is a little annoying to constantly get complaints.

Well Said Dave,

Any Info on when the first publicly available turbo will come of the shelves?

I'm not complaining about the testing, I would just appreciate a new thread once pump gas testing happens. Good luck with your new turbo DB.

off topic:
this is hilarious
