Anyone Have This Tranny Problem?

The other night I missed 5th pretty bad racing a Charger SRT8 (drag strip of course ) and now my tranny is really stiff going into 6th.

I have had this problem before, and I missed again and it fixed it.....right back to normal.

What the heck is going on? Bent Fork? The linkage is all fine, its almost like it gets caught on something and you really have to strain to get it in gear, but once I miss 5th again its like it never happened.

(This is the second time in 20,000 miles, not exactly a common occurrance.)

P.S. I destroyed the Charger, so it wasn't a total loss....

Sounds like a synchro I had the same problem but not with racing it just happened on it's own. The dealer had replaced the synchro and now it shifts fine but I am having other issues wih the trans. Since they put it back together it shifts fine into gear when I am driving but when I am stopped it doesn't want to go into gear at all.

I just recently started having problems w/ my 6speed tranny.

Car has 15k miles on her and the other night whilst coming home from the last xmas shopping for the seison, stopped at the 4way stop closest to my house, pulled away like I normally do, evo is my daily driver, so it doesn't get abused, however it still is modded. Anyways, pull away 1st, 2nd, 3rd then whilst me and my gf talked/laughed in the car I accidently shifted from 3rd to 6th, ofcourse at that time when I disengaged the clutch and stepped on the gas, all power was lost as I was only going around 55mph. Car went into boost as I was still partially stepping on the gas and not at WOT, car popped out of 6th gear, as revs climbed I quickly shifted to 3rd then 4th, 5th and well since then I was unable to shift into 6th gear.

Its simply completely gone, blocked off like it does not exsist. I don't feel like dealing w/ the local Mitsubishi dealers. I also don't have the time to remove all my mods and then take it in. At this time I'm talking to TRE & SHEP to see what my options are, most likely just going to get a rental car for a week and then have TopSpeed ship my tranny to either TRE or SHEP.

I'm considering doing the SHEP 5speed swap.

Sorry for the thread jack, but thought it related.
Hope you get your tranny / clutch problem fix.

posted the same message in another thread already, also regarding 6speed issues, figured I'd post it here aswell, maybe someone has some insight and it saves us from seeing yet another tranny thread.

Well, not only do I have issues getting into 6th, I get locked out of 2nd when revving past 7k (limiter is set to 7800).

And when I say locked out, I mean Godzilla couldnt get it into gear. Looks like I'll be giving John Shephard a call.

I had some similiar issues on my 6 speed. Sometimes the tranny would almost seem to lock me out, whether it was from a missed shift or revving too high but would usualy work itself out. Eventually it had enough and reverse, first and second were completely gone. Most 6 speeds just dont take the extra power.

I'm doing the 5 speed conversion as well. TRE has my 6 speed right now and my car is sitting in my garage waiting for the stage 3 5-speed.

It was $1800 for the stage 3 trans. TRE is taking my 6 speed as a core. I have gearset with a IX 1st and 5th and an VIII 2nd 3rd and 4th

$150 for round trip shipping

On top for that, TRE sells a conversion kit from the 6speed to 5speed for $500. That comes with the new linkage, mounts, shifter and whatever else i need. Im getting $150 back when i send all my 6 speed parts back to him though.

So the total will be $2300 and my buddy and I are doing the labor.
