My car has a very similar noise under part throttle in 3rd around 3krpm

I only launched less than 5 times, went to track once, drive hard. currently 21k miles on the car.

I recently just got my 30k maintenance where they suppose to change all the fluids.

now about 3 weeks later, I start to hear this whine all of a sudden?

Is it possible for my Tcase to be bad? The mechanic at Mitsubishi said my car was in top notch shape. (first time at this dealer btw)

Next thing I know I start to hear this whining noise..

Any thoughts??

If it sounds like the one in the 3rd video clip at the beginning of this thread, go get it warrantied. I just had mine replaced by the dealer at 42,000 miles. I swapped my 3" turbo-back exhaust for a stock one before taking it in, just to be safe.

The noise from mine was more in the 65-80 mph range and was unbearable (particularly in an RS). Even earplugs weren't much relief. The noise also seemed to be related to throttle input, but I'm guessing it was more related to load on the t-case.

Best of luck with the dealer. In my case, they needed district manager approval due to the price of the part, and they had my car for 2 weeks, but it saved me the $3400 plus labor.

is it possible for dealers to mess up the fluids? I assume if I take it to Mitsubishi the least they can do is get the fluids right?

This really sucks, I barely even launch or drive my car and now I might have to drop 3 gs just to get a replacement Tcase....

I bought car car in Nov. 04, its a 2005, do I still have warranty for this?

You should be covered for 10 years / 100,000 miles as an original owner or 5 years / 60,000 miles as a subsequent owner.

Do you know what fluid they put in? It sounds like either they put the wrong fluid or not enough fluid.
