After reading that stuff about M1, I'm going to start dumping in RP again. Stuff works awesome I don't care who hates on it. I put it in my RSX-S and when the car wrecked and I took everything apart, the bearings looked like they had no miles on them. The car had ~100k on it. 2 weeks prior I had a donor motor apart that I was building to handle more boost that had <20k on it and looked no where near as good.

However, their gear oil ... dont bother

Mobile 1
10w30 Summer
5W30 Winter
And a Mobile one Filter to top it all off Every 3000 or less
I buy in bulk to have it on hand. Less trips to the store.

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but I am really thinking about switching from Mobile 1 to Amsoil. The question I have, is; What oil filter are the people running Amsoil using? If you are using Amsoil filter, are you actually going 25k b/w oil changes? Thanks for all the info anyone can give. I did a search and no one seemed to ask this question.

Most are running the AMSOIL Filter but there are still some running the WIX..

The oil IS NOT Capable of running 25K in a high performance, Turbo Charged application.

AMSOIL Specifically states, in writing, that the proper oil is capable of the longest recommended Drain Interval set forth by the OEM, which, on the EVO, is 5000 miles under normal driving conditions, 3000 under severe... All EVO's fall into the severe category, but when using AMSOIL Products SSO, ATM or RD-30 With the AMSOIL Filter, 5000 miles. Longer drain intervals may be established by the use of Oil Analysis.

AGAIN.... DO NOT exceed 5000 miles with the appropriate AMSOIL and Filter Without Oil Analysis..

If you need any advice or Technical support, please feel free to email me..

Are you still selling Amsoil oil and filter? I'm about to change the oil and filter that I bought from you last August. Want to change them before 3000 miles is up.

Motor Oil is a toughy its like talking to people about politics or Religion. This is how I see it. I personally have used and not necessarily in my current car, but over the years ...Royal Purple, Mobil 1, Redline, Amsoil, Valvoline. I have used Mobil 1 Extended Performance in my Evo since new. Amsoil people, in particular, always claim, oh but amsoil is better, But amsoil always compares with the regular Mobil 1 not the extended performance. You have to compare like oils. I feel my car came from the factory with Movil 1 for a reason. Yeah Yeah, Mits got a deal from Mobil, say what you want, but They could have picked any oil as factory fill. Mercedes AMG, Corvettes, Porche, Mits, and many more use this oil as factory fill for a reason. $ for $ is the best oil available. Switching to another oil I feel is pissing money away. I used Amsoil in my Evo 8, and use Mobil 1 extended Performance in my Evo 9. I won't change unless I see a proven difference of which Amsoil cannot do yet. Indipendent studies my A_S!!! Mobil 1 baby!

Shell Rotella T. Tried Amsoil, used Mobil 1 for years, and this stuff is the first oil that really quieted the motor down and my bearings look fantastic after a teardown. Specs, shear tests, research.........blah blah blah blah I'll take real world. My motors rattle less at idle and the internal parts look great upon teardown.
