Why so? If the Mobil engineer recommended a 0W-40 because of the lifter tick, then why do you suggest that he put in that thicker syrup? I had lifter tick with Mobil1 15W-50, but when I switched to Mobil1 0W-40 my lifter tick went away too. The Mobil1 0W-40 was factory fill on the Audi S4 Bi-turbos.

The Mobil1 0W-40 is my summer oil, and in the winter I use Shell 5W-40 Helix Ultra, which is the only oil recommended by Ferrari. What, me worry?

I have used Royal Purple in other cars and never had an issue. I use Mobil 1 in the Evo since thats what the cap says. 5qt jugs are cheap at Wally world.

Amsoil 10w-30 full synthetic, EaO filter, and a change every 5k. No issues whatsoever.

Mobil 1. I go with convenience. Walmart is a mile down the road and the price is right.

Ive run Mobil 1 5w-30 for about 3 years now and it always did the job. But I recently made the change to the new Castrol Edge 5w-30 and best thing Ive done yet. Car started up smoother, ran smoother, and it was 10x's more quiet.

Ill be changing it soon Ill check the oil out to see what kind of condition its in when I drain it.

The main reason I changed is because is because about two years ago they changed mobil 1 and its not fully synthetic anymore.
