RP with no excess material in my last Oil Analysis. Comment given by Blacklab "RP is working very well for you, I wouldn't change a thing". I replace it every 3K.

I would love to say that I use some high dollar super pure all syn oil after Mobil went to the less exclusive and according to some formulation but the facts are that while I did run Redline I was a bit worried about the oil temps I was getting after 20 min track sessions and gave Mobil one a try again and found that it actually ran COOLER and felt better but that is maybe more a function of feeling happier and at ease due to lower temps.

By the way, we run Mobil 1 in the rally car and not because they pay us too.

There are two groups of people represented here.

First, there are the owners who use their cars as daily drivers and pile on the miles. These people are seeking an oil that will minimize cylinder and ring wear in order to extract the maximum number of miles before overhaul.

Second, there are the owners who modify and track their cars. These people need an oil that will stand up to extreme conditions of heat and pressure. The problem in this group is blown engines.

Finally, there is the question of cost. The full synthetic oil specified for our cars is more expensive than regular oil. I think most people will agree that clean oil is better than dirty oil. Cost may affect how often the oil is changed.

So, I’d be interested in learning what is the best oil for the daily driver and what is the best oil for the tracked car. Are they the same? And, the price of the product is important.

If I was going to use my car as a dedicated track car it would prob see Motul, Lucas, RP, or Amsoil products in the motor, and Mobil-1 like I use right now...

from what I have heard a track car wants a 40 or 50, so something like a 5w50..
a dd should be as designed 0w,5w or 10w 30
in both cases a full synth

be glad to be corrected.
