This thread is funny. Clearly the voting favors head studs but those choosing to post, for the most part, think differently. Gotta love the interweb.

We already know about 50% of the people that do the 1 by 1 ARP upgrade have problems.

The real question is how many people have had issues running high boost on the stock head bolts. I will guarantee that more people have problems with the ARP half arsed approach than simply sticking with the stock bolts.

My car is a track ****. When running race gas or alchy I run 26psi and this is for lapping days, drag racing, and simply going from point A to point B. My compression is perfect. It has more to do with your tune than anything else. If you are knocking like a jackhammer then you are going to have problems no matter what you install.

Invest the $100 in a good tune instead.

I vote you do it! I didn't have them put in when i had cams installed. I would really feel safer with them. If i ever have to get back into the head I will put arp studs in. Great Safety Net!!!!!!

He's a tool. You don't do studs with the head on. That is the wrong way. The one by one method works about 50% of the time which is pretty crappy considering when the head gasket leaks you have to drain and flush both the coolant and oil systems. Huge PITA.

Keep the stockers. Make sure they are torqued. Call it good and enjoy.

If there was a 50% failure rate by doing the studs 1 by 1, do you think the top two Evo shops in the country would really continue to do them this way? Please stop pulling percentages our of thin air. If your going to post a statistic, please for the sake of people who are trying to get good infomation, post factual numbers.

I would not do it unless you plan on pushing some ridiculous psi, up to 26 the stockers have proven that they can hold.

Sorry man I can be a dick sometimes. I still don't believe there is a special tool. The only correct way is to remove the head and replace the head gasket.

I agree 100%. Even if there is a "special" tool that would still be 1x1
